Congress Wants to See Obama's "License to Kill" | Mother Jones

Congress is finally standing up to President Barack Obama on targeted killing. Almost a year after three American citizens were killed in US drone strikes, legislators are pushing the administration to explain why it believes it's legal to kill American terror suspects overseas.
Congress is considering two measures that would compel the Obama administration to show members of Congress what Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) calls Obama's "license to kill": internal memos outlining the legal justification for killing Americans overseas without charge or trial. Legislators have been asking administration officials to release the documents for nearly a year, raising the issue multiple times in hearings and letters. But the new proposals, including one from Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) first (((flagged by BLOGGER Marcy Wheeler))) and another in a separate intelligence bill aren't requests—they would mandate disclosure. That shift shows both Republicans and Democrats are growing impatient with the lack of transparency on targeted killings.

"Tornado Oct. 3, 1979"

I went to work as an apprentice airport electrician at Bradley International Airport on the morning of Oct. 3,1979. It was just a normal day like all days. The birds were singing and a fall chill was in the air. I drove my newly purchased used $500 1971 Ford pickup truck to the airport and parked it along side my friends new Ford van and went to get my work truck out of building # 228. In those days all the airport buildings had numbers. They were old military buildings left over from World war II that were given to the State of Connecticut and each had a designation or a number. I parked the work truck in that building at night when we were done work…As I was unlocking the door the third vehicle arrived. It was one of the airport painters just getting to work. I backed the truck out of the building and got out and locked the door. Said good morning to the painter who was suffering from his usual hangover and I left. I drove by the new fire house and onto the east side taxiway to cross the approach of runway 33. I picked up the microphone and called the Bradley control tower. “Bradley ground this is this is State 5 on the east side, at the approach of runway 33”. The tower replied “State 5 Bradley ground“. I replied, “holding short of runway 33, clearance to cross“. Hold short State 5 landing traffic to your left…I waited and watched as a Mohawk Airlines BAC 111 passed and landed, tires chirping and smoking as they hit the runway. As the plane passed by, the tower said, “State 5 clear to cross runway 33“…I replied, “5 roger, clear to cross“ and I headed to the Electrical shop on the ground floor of the terminal building…Little did anyone know this would be one of the worst days in the history of Bradley International Airport.
    I was in that Electrical shop that afternoon. I think it was around 2PM, when the sky turned a dark gray. It had an odd pinkish red tint and the wind was from the east, it was unusually strong. The airport Windsock was straight out. That was not a good sign. Someone in the shop was yelling something and air pressure in that large room dropped to the point where the air was being vacuumed out at the ramp level doors. The doors slammed to the open position as papers and small tools were being sucked out to the aircraft ramp. Without thinking I ran to the open doors, I could feel the wind and pressure at my back as I grasped both handles and struggled to close them. I managed to get both doors closed enough to slam the bolt closed and lock them. As I did this I watched through the door windows as pieces of the roof of the cantilever hanger started to swirl off in a counter clock wise flight into the air…I glanced to my left and watched as an American Airlines Boeing 707 tried to land on runway 24, only to touch down, tires smoking and then throttle forward and nose up with a deafening roar to take off again while making an immediate right turn away, wings bent from the strain of the turn heading away from the storm as fast as the airliner would go. It was then I heard the wind roaring and the train sound that everyone talks about. After that I don’t remember much except my assignment was to keep the airport emergency generators running as long as I could. I told my supervisor later that night that if I didn’t shut them off one of them was going to burn out because of the amps it was putting out and load it was carrying. If I remember correctly he said “ Keep them running I don’t care if they burn up” He did some swearing but I won’t say what he said…I did manage to keep them running and one generator did burn out as I predicted it would in the early morning hours, coming to a grinding halt.…I shut off the other generator and the airport runways and terminal went dark.
   Earlier in the evening I did manage to call home and was relieved to find out that our house was in tact and everyone was safe. In the weeks to come everything is a blur but I remember the destruction and devastation were like nothing I have ever seen. I describe it as like the airport was bombed during a war. There were pieces of aircraft everywhere. The smell of aviation fuel was unbearable. I was astonished at the nails and debris that were everywhere and pieces of homes and buildings that were in what was left of the twisted Oak and Maple trees. I don’t recall when I went to check on my truck but when I got there it was intact but that new van that I parked next to was totally destroyed. The chimney from the building fell on the rear of the van and crushed it. My truck had a broken windshield and two flat tires. The painters car was dented and sandblasted like my truck but otherwise was OK.  These pictures. Taken with what I believe is a 35 MM camera. One of the Cantilever hanger with the roof gone and the tail of a B-52 bomber sticking out of the back and my truck, I have never seen this picture before till the other day. I was happily surprised and if you look closely there is my truck parked over by that pile of sand. It’s the one in the middle. That pile of wood and junk is what is left of building 228.…There were times when I parked my truck in the building. I glad I didn’t do it that day…I have never been in a situation like that since and I never want to be…

I’ve had some people say that I am “Intense”. I’ve even had someone say “Its because of people like you that," and so on and so forth. Well, thank you I am honored to be called those things. Yes, I agree that times I can be very blunt and sometimes unintentionally hurtful but you must admit the truth does hurt sometimes. At times I exaggerate or "stretch the truth" but no matter how it comes out its still the truth. I comment on the, “what ifs“...Well, good or bad what if I and writers like myself didn’t say what we say or write what we write? What if we all sat around with our heads in the sand doing nothing? Somehow I can’t imagine not doing or saying anything. Some of us Blog because we don’t want the bad guys to get away with anything. No, I don’t want to be a celebrity or famous. I’m not the best writer in the world and I don’t command the greatest use of punctuation and the English Language. I was a “C” English student in High School. I did take courses in English Composition in College where I was a “B” student. I have been known to use unusual words from the past and writing about the future. Some of my predictions actually have happened. I have been known to write about solutions, some very extreme but sooner or later will need to happen. They are only putting off the inevitable. I have also been known to invent a word or two. Its like we writers put up a wall of words between us and them. We bring to light, the miss deeds of the “Want to be thieves” in Washington and the corrupt leaders from around the world. I report on what I think the real reasons are for things happening. I can honestly say that at long last I am the proud member of the Blogosphere…

Update 2 - "Summer Olympics on TV"

If you have already read the beginning of this post written when the Olympics started. Please scroll down to the last entry...I wrote it a few minutes ago. Its about what TV and the media is doing to you and the young people of today...

No lengthy bitch post here. Just a thank you. Guess what? Hang on to your seat. Are you ready? Wait for it…. Wait for it …..I am watching the Summer Olympics on TV. Yes, that’s right TV. A 40 inch Sony TV in high definition and you know what? So far there is almost more Olympic coverage than there are commercials and ads. I almost don’t believe it. Yes, there are ads but most are designed with the Olympics in mind and the rest are mutable. What happened? Did someone finally get smart and say maybe we are losing viewers with all those insulting ads. Did someone with a brain hear us. Thank you NBC keep up the good work…and you don't see me write that to often...

I haven’t watched TV in such a long time I thought maybe that something had changed. It must have been wishful thinking. I was wrong. So very wrong. The programming of your brain continues. They are still trying to dumb you death. From the Political ads with all the Corrupt Politicians and their false promises to the expensive car ads with all their lies. Its all there. I will still watch the Olympics but I promise to mute all the insanity between the events. I think what happens is, as the morning progresses, the more viewers tune in and they add more Commercials…I should have known that. Again I am so sorry. Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. is at the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota “for extensive inpatient evaluation for depression and gastrointestinal issues,” according to a statement from Jackson sent late Friday by Rochester, Minn.-based Mayo.
Jackson’s whereabouts have been a mystery since he went on medical leave June 10. The statement issued Friday said the congressman “has arrived at Mayo Clinic,” but did not say where he came from.
Friday’s statement offers the most specific description yet of Jackson’s condition. When Jackson’s office first announced his medical leave two weeks after it began, it said the 17-year congressman was being treated for exhaustion.

Jackson, 47, is under a House Ethics Committee investigation into allegations that a longtime friend, Raghuveer Nayak, offered former Gov. Rod Blagojevich up to $6 million in campaign cash to appoint Jackson to President Barack Obama’s seat in the U.S. Senate.

Comment.......I seen "Schindler's List" and thought it was graphic..."The Gray Zone" not only has a great cast but its hard to explain how you will feel watching this. You know its a true story, you just won't want to believe it. We all like to think we know what happened at Auschwitz and I don't care who you are we all have this denial about what they did to these people. We don't like to think humans could do these these things to other humans. Things so horrible that your mind won't let you process the insanity of what really happened. If you decide to watch this movie you will feel the hate the Germans had for the Jewish people..Its easy to follow. Its a step by step process of cruelty and death. The actors are good, so good that you will experience the fear. You will not understand why or how someone could do these things to innocent people...

Investigators said Allison Niemeyer, the child's mother, and her sister Laura Niemeyer stuffed Walmart merchandise into the child's diaper bag.

The video shows a security guard trying to stop the two women and one of them, whom police identified as Allison Niemeyer, running away through the parking lot.
The guard struggles with the other woman, who police identified as Laura Niemeyer, who tries to pull the child out of the store, but she also runs away.
"We work a lot of strange cases as police officers, none really as bad as this. Certainly it's very rare for parents to abandon their children," said Ocala police spokesman Chas Maier.

HARTFORD, Conn. — A radio signal being transmitted out of the submarine base in Groton Connecticut is likely behind reports of garage doors failing to open and close in southeastern Connecticut, the U.S. Navy said Monday. The signal is part of the Enterprise Land Mobile Radio system, which is used by the military to coordinate responses with civil emergency workers, said Chris Zendan, a spokesman for submarine base in Groton.

The problem, first reported by The Day of New London, is that the same frequency is used at very low levels by the manufacturers of garage door openers. The signals from remote controls to open or close the doors are blocked by the signal from the base.

 Overhead Door Co. of Norwich Inc. told the newspaper it has been receiving complaints from several towns near the base and has found no problem with its equipment. The Associated Press left messages with the company Monday.

Comment.....There are so many errant TV, radio and cell phone signals in the atmosphere these days, the Navy with their Millions of dollars worth of technology will make their system work and a few garage door openers will not deter them. They don't care, they will ignore these issues and continue doing what they are doing under the guise of National Security. Fighting the Navy on this issue is hopeless. The Overhead door company will eventually have to change the frequency on their system.

My concern is the Sonar on the Submarines interfering with the Whale and Dolphin sonar causing confusion and making those sea creatures beach themselves on shore. The Navy always denies this and I even think has done something to prevent from happening too often all though it will still happen from time to time. Its always suspicious when 20 or 30 of these sea creatures beach themselves around here, near the Subase in Groton Connecticut...

Chicago is experiencing an incredible surge in gangster violence that has experts wondering what exactly is going on. Gang violence is up 30% since last year, and the murder rate has skyrocketed by 37% since this time in 2011.

Over the Independence Day weekend, 15 people were shot, some of whom were children. Previous weekends were much worse. On the weekend of June 16-17, 35 people were wounded, and seven killed. The previous weekend 40 Chicagoans were shot, and eight died. On Memorial Day weekend, 40 people were shot, and 10 died. By far the worst violence occurred on the weekend of March 17-18, when 49 people were shot and 10 people killed, including a six-year-old girl. So far this year, a whopping 279 people have been killed in Chicago, largely due to gang turf wars.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s answer to the problem has been to close down corner liquor stores and tear down abandoned buildings where gang members hang out.

 Comment....Hows that working out for you Rahm? The gangs should all move to Connecticut because now they are selling booze on Sundays and there is no death penalty...I think the gangs are angry because they want a piece of the action from the corrupt Illinois political machine. The Politicians just don't want to share. Maybe the gangs want a Senate seat for free or to be able to sell drugs legally in the Capital Building. It could be the the Politicians want a piece of the action from the drug money. Hey, you never know? Its not unheard of in that State. The casualty report above looks like its from Afghanistan. The only thing missing is the road side bombs. But wait, sooner or later someone will think of that. Yes, you're right, Illinois is Obama's home State. Maybe he can send them some free Federal money and quiet things down. If only to bring the statistics down to be able to say the crime rate is dropping like in Connecticut. Not that, that has anything to do with it. Its always about self interest and how much cash they can get. Its always getting reelected and their off shore bank accounts that they don't want you to know about...

Ride died Monday after a 17-month battle with pancreatic cancer. She was 61.
 "Sally lived her life to the fullest, with boundless energy, curiosity, intelligence, passion, commitment, and love. Her integrity was absolute; her spirit was immeasurable; her approach to life was fearless," read a statement on the Sally Ride Science website.
Ride was selected as an astronaut candidate in 1978, just after earning her doctorate degree in physics from Stamford.

I just received my tax return for 2011 back from the IRS. It puzzles me!!!  They are questioning how many dependents I claimed.  I guess it was because of my response to the question: "List all dependents?"

I replied:  12 million illegal immigrants; 3 million crack heads; 42 million unemployed people on food stamps, 2 million people in over 243 prisons; Half of Mexico; and 535 persons in the U.S. House and Senate."

Evidently, this was NOT an acceptable answer. I KEEP ASKING MYSELF, WHOM DID I MISS?

 (SALEM / TEHRAN) - Long before the dramatic "killing" of Usama bin Laden by U.S. Navy SEAL's in Pakistan, I wrote about the impossibility of the man being alive.

First and foremost, and this is common knowledge; he was suffering from kidney failure and required dialysis treatments to stay alive. This complicated medical procedure, we are supposed to believe, according to the Obama account, had been taking place in a cave and then this house in Pakistan, while the man had an extraordinary price tag of $25 million U.S. on his head in a poverty ridden and diverse country.

Comment.......I thought at first, who really cares? Now I'm thinking could it be the administration looking for a boost in popularity. Hey, I really don't know. I'll put it out there to see what you think...I don't trust any of them...It could be the ex agent with an ax to grind...You never know in this sick world....

GUANTANAMO BAY NAVY BASE, Cuba -- The accused architect of al-Qaida’s USS Cole bombing skipped arguments in his war crimes case Thursday, a day after both the public and the accused were excluded from a hearing that discussed CIA intelligence.
All defense counsel Richard Kammen would say was that Saudi national Abd al Rahim al Nashiri “voluntarily chose not to attend.” So guards did not move him from his cell at the prison several miles away to the court at Camp Justice.

Comment....And it goes on and on, the years pass by and the United States continues to play games with these monsters...We are the laughing stock of the world as the wives, children and parents of the young men that were killed sit and wait for justice...What a joke...

Stuart Levine, the former political insider who masterminded illegal backroom deals before turning government informant to help take down the Blagojevich administration, was sentenced to about 5 ½ years today in prison. Levine, 66, apologized before the sentence was handed down. “I wish to express my deep regret to the people of the state of Illinois," he said. He choked up when he thanked his children for their “continued love, which has sustained me.”

Comment.....Will they go after Roland Burris the guy who ultimately got Obama's Senate seat? He didn't have it for long before he got booted...Now its Jesse Jackson Jr's turn. It doesn't help Jackson's case that he's been in hot water in recent years, although for very different reasons. Jackson was rumored to be a candidate to fill Obama's Senate seat after the 2008 presidential election. In fact, supporters allegedly offered to pay Inmate  Blagojevich a $1.5 million kickback for appointing Jackson, although the congressman denied knowing of the effort. There have also been rumors of a suicide attempt..

Comment ....Is he in hiding? Is he still getting paid? Is he on sick leave? Has he even been on the job long enough to accumulate enough time to get paid for this disappearance? Has he done this in the past? Does he have a history of Mood disorder? Someone mentioned Alcoholism and Rehab? Did anyone notice if he was drinking or using drugs? Did he mention this before he was elected? What does Dad say about all this? You try this on your job! You would be out on the street in a day...I just know this Honest Illinois politician and his staff members will come up with some lame excuse...

Usually when I feel down in the dumps its because I am blaming people, places and things for the depression feeling. It feels like the poor me's. I’m not depressed its just a feeling and it will pass. Its like a week of wonderful natural highs then the feeling of blah, blah, blah. I did cross that bridge on Rt. 95 ( pictured above ) going to Old Saybrook from Old Lyme Connecticut on my bike a few weeks ago and yes it was high and long but also very boring. I'd rather ride by the water and I liked the old bridge better. Its when I went under that bridge later when I came back and seen the belongings of a homeless person. That’s what really brought me back to reality and remind me to appreciate what I have..It seems like I always get these little messages to remind me. I just have to recognize what they are.. Which brings me to this subject……The longer I live here by the ocean I see more of this type of thing going on. I have seen men and woman, young and old, standing by the side of the road holding signs, saying they will work for food. I have seen more people hitch hiking around here then I have anywhere in years.
  Last night I went out with friends, well I don’t want say went out with friends, it was more hanging around with some guys and a few girls who happened to be where I was. Anyway, they were whining and complaining so much it got on my nerves. People, If you are doing what you are supposed to do and living by a few very basic, easy and simple rules. The things going on around you wouldn't be bothering you so much…It could be the other things that you need to think about and work on. Take a long look yourself and what is going on around you. Nothing or no one can make you do anything if you don’t want to do it…If you do anything to hurt yourself its your fault…No one can be blamed…Its you that makes the ultimate decision. Sometimes there is no coming back from that disruption in the thinking process. The cost of repairing the damage could be life ending or you could be wandering around in this very uncomfortable world for a very long time. One of my more favorite sayings is, and I have a few is...“Get off the cross, we need the wood”. If you are going to do something negative by all means, “Please do it” or stop feeling sorry for yourself. You are in the same boat as the rest of us. The whole idea is to stay out of that shark infested water and believe me, today the water is not only shark infested, its polluted. The chances of returning to the fold later, these days, are slim to none.

"Idiosyncrasy's"

Don't you love the word "Idiosyncrasy"? The way it just rolls off your tongue. I have a few of those things and one of my favorites is that I remove all the labels from the products I buy. I can't help it. Containers come specifically designed so you can't help but to know what is in the bottle. I leave the Dawn dish liquid on the counter behind the sink. Its not like you don't know what is in the bottle so I take off the label. I do the same thing with the hand cleaner. In fact I put it in its own special green bottle. Likewise with the hand lotion and the Windex. Pert shampoo for men is self explanatory..Label gone. CD and lens cleaner done automatically or put into a label free bottle. "Label Free, don't you love that?"  Dove body wash same thing. You can tell what it is because it has all those little blue dots. I won't buy anything else...Its the advertising. I don't need a label telling me over and over again what I use. Any of the stuff I use, I have been using for years..It will never change. If I can't get the label off I'll put the stuff in a different recognizable bottle...I realize that I paid for that container as part of the price for the stuff that's in the bottle but its my container and I'll do what I want with it.. Oh, and I save glass containers to put stuff in but that's an other idiosyncrasy for another day....

"Recycle Your What?"

There seems to be a question about recycling where I live. At least I have a question?..I remember when I was a kid. Once a week my Dad put these 2 galvanized garbage cans into the trunk of his car. He had to tie the trunk lid down because they wouldn't fit. We went to a place called a dump. It was on a very bumpy dirt road in my town. Its Called Hathaway St. now. We had to go really slow down this road and Dad got mad if the car made a funny noise. There is a ball park and play ground there now. The town built those things on top of the dump. It was on Reed Ave in Windsor Locks Connecticut. He would back up his car up to a fly infested pile of trash get out of the car and empty the cans...I would wait in the car because he said he didn't want me to step on any glass. When we left that place the car would be filled with fly's...That is my memory of our local dump...Now its called recycling... Not to long ago I took ride on my bike to the recycling center in Suffield Conn. Its a huge facility that receives the garbage from the surrounding communities. Those big garbage trucks you see a few times a week on your street back into these places and dump their load onto conveyor belts to be separated by workers (humans) and sent to different places in this huge trash factory . For example, plastic with plastic, aluminum with aluminum and glass with glass. The rest of the trash like paper and other things is sent to a special place in this factory. In other words nothing is actually thrown away. Everything is, to put it bluntly, recycled...I wonder who paid to build these places and who works there? Another question here is who is making money on the things you throw away? I seen freight car loads of shredded aluminum and plastic going somewhere...They want you to separate this stuff. Why?  Do you separate your trash and garbage for them? Do you get paid for doing this? Why, do you do this if someone does for you?

(Typical reaction to the trailer, out this week: "Tom Cruise could play Reacher's 'mini-me.")

Lee Child hemmed and hawed a bit when asked to comment – "Honestly, I'm incredibly thrilled and grateful that anyone has an opinion at all" – but then he cut to the chase.
"Okay, he doesn't look exactly right," Child finally admitted. "But he sure does act like Reacher." He went on to say that demand is only one side of the equation. There's also supply to consider. "People are acting as if we marched past vast legions of 6'5", 250-pound actors," he says. "Nobody looks like that in Hollywood."

Comment....I have read all of Lee Child's Jack Reacher books and the ex-military policeman is one tough guy. I get the impression from reading the stories, that to do what he does he needs to be a big intimating guy. Wallingford Connecticut police want to speak with this man in connection with a camera discovered inside a Walmart dressing room.
they said they would like to speak with after a Camera was discovered inside a Walmart dressing room in early June.
Police said the camera was set up inside the dressing room and was only recording for a short period of time before it was discovered by an employee.
Police said there was no indication that anyone was actually filmed while undressing.
A Walmart spokesperson released a statement to Channel 3 Eyewitness News and said, "This is completely inappropriate and unacceptable to our customers. As a precaution, store associates have been asked to check the fitting rooms for anything unusual. Walmart is very relieved and grateful that no one's privacy was violated."

"I've wanted to do a story about someone whose door opens to a much larger, more frightening, more difficult world — and how she deals with it, especially someone with a great lack of experience in worldly things," he says. "It's basically someone who's well trained in high school, dealing with something and a whole slew of consequences of things that happen in the adult world."

Comment.......This is the story of Margaret, played by Anna Paquin, a 17 year old High School student living in New York with her mother and young brother. While talking to her father on the phone he asks her to visit him in California. They talk about doing some horseback riding while she is there so one day Margaret sets out in the city to buy a cowboy hat at a store in Manhattan. This touches off a series of events and an emotional roller coaster ride when she tries to talk to a bus driver who happens to be wearing a cowboy hat. Its a story of honesty and telling the truth and how one lie can change the coarse of events in a world when being a very intelligent but confused and sexually frustrated teenager is hard enough to cope with.. I watched this movie last night and I had to post this..It has a great cast including Matt Damon, Mark Ruffalo and Mathew Broderick of Ferris Bueller fame...Check the link below for the credits.... With the adoption of questionable policies to allow woman into combat roles, the military is struggling to design body armor that fits around women’s breasts, hips and shoulders and allows more maneuverability on the battlefield.
Lt. Colonel Frank Lozano, describes the problem in a recent Christian Science Monitor article this way:
“It rubbed on the hips, and the vests were too long in the front, so that when you had female soldiers climbing stairs or climbing up a hill or a tree, or sitting for a long time in a vehicle, that would create pressure points that in some instances could impact blood flow and cause some discomfort”

In "The Bourne Legacy" the CIA decides to shut down Operation Outcome, the successor to Operation Treadstone, and Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), an Outcome operative, and Stephanie Snyder (Rachel Weisz), a doctor who helped create the Outcome agents, must find a way to escape before the CIA  can have them assassinated. The picture also stars Edward Norton as agent Byer, a CIA architect whose character allegiances are much more complex than a simple antagonist's.
The action thriller also stars Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac. "The Bourne Legacy" opens in theaters on August 10th.

Comment .....Its my understanding that Matt Damon didn't want the part as Jason Bourne. At first I was disappointed but now I think I know why. I watched these trailers and it looks like they made Jason into kind of a superman..I don't know about that..I don't think Mr. Ludlum had that in mind when he wrote the original book..

"Un-recognized and Un-famous"

I’d like to Un-recognize some of these people who think they are somebody but are nothing. The un-famous to me, is someone who did absolutely nothing to be in the limelight and is now in the limelight. I think that’s a Dad word. Like, “Lawrence you don’t want to be in the limelight“. Or, “Lawrence stay out of the limelight“ Anyway, just because you are pretty or handsome or have big boobs you are not famous. Just because you may know someone that is famous like a politician or a singer or someone that has been on TV. That doesn’t mean you are a celebrity but hey, if an Owl is famous I guess you can be too. You could say, “I’m famous like that owl” but then who wants Owl fame? Then there is that one day of fame, then forgotten. I don’t know who that was because I already forgot. Then there are the nobodies that try to be somebody or something they are not. Usually they are the U-Tubers that do something like record themselves and put it on U-Tube and are there but you don’t know it. They are the wanna-bes that will hurt or kill themselves doing something to be noticed but never make it unless you count that 10 seconds on your local TV channel. That is mostly reserved for the so-called news and the morons that get caught robbing a bank, beating their wife or girlfriend or slashing their neighbors to death. I never thought writing something like that would be funny…I can’t help it if I’m laughing… Remember, if someone does get that 5 minutes of fame these days, they want their own reality show or a book deal. The last show I watched was the one in some Jungle somewhere. I remember there was a gay guy fighting with some girl that looked like a guy. I don’t remember why. I heard he went to jail for income tax evasion. Now they are putting famous people on the show so more un-famous people will watch…..That’s an example of 5 minutes of fame. We had this rich person running for Senator in my State. She has spent $50 million dollars of her money and your tax dollars to buy the election. It looks like you can’t buy fame as well as you can't buy an election. She said, “She is investing in herself” OMG. She lost the election. I do like the show where people try to show their talent and Judges point out the mistakes and everybody has this little sob story about their mom, dad or brother.  They have this black guy, an Oprah wanna-be that talks like everyone in this country is from the Ghetto. I have to turn it off because I just cant stand that ex-rapper drivel…I don’t like that black slang talk. I can’t understand what they are saying most of the time. They say a lot of unnecessary things, like "You know what I mean". “My God”, whoever is responsible for hiring this fool, get rid of him please…..Just because you think you can rap doesn’t mean you are famous. It must be because he is married to a good singer. See, that doesn’t count either. He is not famous. His wife is…Look what happened to that Jessie guy and that famous actress. She is a really a good actress. He had his 5 minutes fame and now he’s in the wind or he hooked up with the lady with all the Tattoos…Not that there is anything wrong with that. Remember the Jet blue guy that was trying to be famous. The news fools were calling him a folk hero and that’s how it starts. How long did it last? I'll bet you hardly remember him. Hero? He’s a criminal. He’s angry and he lost it! Its lucky he didn’t kill somebody. Years ago before guys did that job, I dated a very beautiful stewardess who worked for United Airlines. No, I’m not famous just lucky. I’ll never forget her. All this stuff doesn’t make you somebody unless you really do something. Swearing and going down a emergency slide doesn’t count. Like really knowing how to sing or act or even talk like a normal person counts. Anger doesn’t count. Fame usually means an education and a lot of hard work and rejection. There are many pitfalls. Keep in mind you never get something for nothing. You will pay in the end. Reality shows are not really real. Its only real if there are no cameras but then what’s the point…..
