Just a note. I often see misquotes of biblical text. There is one in here: "Money is the root of all evil." The actual quote is "Love of money is the root of all evil." I wonder if your parents left off the first two words. One of my favorite misquotes is when atheists try to say Christianity is against knowledge because man was commanded not to eat from the "Tree of Knowledge". However, it wasn't just the tree of knowledge. It was the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Completely different things. I think that the lesson is that labeling things good and evil, or learning the difference between them, removes our innocence. The quote you listed just reminded me of that. I'm not Christian anymore, but I did study the bible quite a lot and notice when I see misquotes. BTW, I've heard all those quotes from my parents and more. :) One is, "There is no such thing as a free lunch."
