"The Bourne Legacy," Universal's latest entry in the Operation Treadstone/Black Briar saga which focuses on CIA-trained assassins such as Jason Bourne.
But with screenwriter/director Tony Gilroy ("Michael Clayton") at the helm (he was also the writer and architect of the first three 'Bourne' films), 'Legacy' veers away from the series' story which has thus far centered on Jason Bourne. 'Legacy' begins with the the public and political fallout from the events of "The Bourne Ultimatum" and how that echoes out into the world. In "The Bourne Legacy" the CIA decides to shut down Operation Outcome, the successor to Operation Treadstone, and Aaron Cross (Jeremy Renner), an Outcome operative, and Stephanie Snyder (Rachel Weisz), a doctor who helped create the Outcome agents, must find a way to escape before the CIA can have them assassinated. The picture also stars Edward Norton as agent Byer, a CIA architect whose character allegiances are much more complex than a simple antagonist's.
The action thriller also stars Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac. "The Bourne Legacy" opens in theaters on August 10th.
Comment .....Its my understanding that Matt Damon didn't want the part as Jason Bourne. At first I was disappointed but now I think I know why. I watched these trailers and it looks like they made Jason into kind of a superman..I don't know about that..I don't think Mr. Ludlum had that in mind when he wrote the original book..
If you click the link for the trailers they are just the trailers, no ads or commercials...You will see what I mean...Check it out...
