US: Rights Groups Denounce Dropping of CIA Torture Cases | Common Dreams

WASHINGTON - U.S. human rights groups have roundly condemned Thursday’s announcement by Attorney General Eric Holder that the Justice Department will not pursue prosecutions of Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) officers who may have been responsible for the deaths of two prisoners in their custody.

(Credit: Fahim Siddiqi/IPS) The announcement appeared to mark the end of all efforts by the U.S. government to hold CIA interrogators accountable for torture and mistreating prisoners detained during the so-called “Global War on Terror” launched shortly after the Al Qaeda attacks on Sep. 11, 2001.
For rights activists and for supporters of President Barack Obama, it was the latest in a series of disappointing decisions, including the failure to close the detention facility at the U.S. base in Guantanamo, Cuba. They had hoped Obama would not only end the excesses of President George W. Bush’s prosecution of the war, but also conduct a full investigation of those excesses, if not prosecute those responsible.

 Comment....Let me make one thing really clear here. I have never supported Obama! Never did and I never will. As far as I'm concerned a vote for him is like saying its OK to charge $7 or 8 dollar's for a gallon of Gas... However I'm  glad that the cases were dropped against agents that were "Doing Their Job"...The key words here "doing their job". To pursue this would mean, Bush, Chaney and the rest of those manipulators would have to be arrested also and we all know they wouldn't do that.. I know the agents were doing what they were told to do by someone above them. You cannot change that. Although this looks like a free pass its not...The rules will change and the idea is for them not to know this...We will still not let them get away with blowing up little girls in schools.

 (SALEM / TEHRAN) - Long before the dramatic "killing" of Usama bin Laden by U.S. Navy SEAL's in Pakistan, I wrote about the impossibility of the man being alive.

First and foremost, and this is common knowledge; he was suffering from kidney failure and required dialysis treatments to stay alive. This complicated medical procedure, we are supposed to believe, according to the Obama account, had been taking place in a cave and then this house in Pakistan, while the man had an extraordinary price tag of $25 million U.S. on his head in a poverty ridden and diverse country.

Comment.......I thought at first, who really cares? Now I'm thinking could it be the administration looking for a boost in popularity. Hey, I really don't know. I'll put it out there to see what you think...I don't trust any of them...It could be the ex agent with an ax to grind...You never know in this sick world....

KABUL, Afghanistan — The U.S. has terminated funding for a $20 million project to develop a Pakistani version of "Sesame Street," the U.S. Embassy said Tuesday.
The decision came as a Pakistani newspaper reported allegations of corruption by the local puppet theater working on the initiative.
The organization in question is the Rafi Peer Theater Workshop, a group in the city of Lahore that jointly developed the show with Sesame Workshop, the creator of the American series.

Comment.....So the next time you drive up to your local gas station remember, that part of the Federal Gas Tax goes to paying for something like this...Keep that mind when you pay your Federal Income Tax and when give your Corrupt Washington Lawyers who disguise themselves as your Representatives a raise. Remember this when they help themselves to donations and campaign funding. Keep in mind that this is only the tip of the iceberg here...Obviously someone got caught and it is an election year after all. Remember things like this before you vote for, "You Know Who".....Remember the $20 million dollars of your Tax dollars someone tried to steal....I'd like to know who is responsible for thinking of something stupid like this...Does this person still work for the Government? Did anybody have the presence of mind to check for hidden bank accounts. For off shore accounts? I have never heard of anything like this...Stop all aid to Pakistan and Afghanistan immediately !!! The FBI and the CIA should do a complete investigation on who ever thought of something like this....   

"You Can’t Make This Stuff Up”

The weather here yesterday was chilly, damp, rainy and unpredictable just like our Government. Our Governor is going around the State trying to convince people that his budget plan is the right way to go. He wants to raise taxes and cut programs…On the Federal side, the U.S. government will shut down on March 4th. Stay tuned for that. That means all federal employees except The President the Senators and Congress will be furloughed. It looks like they will have to get their own coffee in the morning. The Obama administration will somehow pay 35 Billion tax, or newly printed dollars ($35,000,000,000.00) to Boeing Aircraft. To me that’s astounding. They are going to built new refueling tanker planes. They are like new 707’s. Neat huh…Can you imagine the debt he will leave when he’s gone? And oh yes he will be gone. That’s like you and your wife just got laid off and you are behind on your car and house payments but you go out and charge on your charge card a house full of new furniture. Yes, its good for the workers but bad for the taxpayers. Its insane isn’t it? ….Someone on CNN yesterday said that Osama Ben Laden and Al Qaeda is responsible for the all the craziness in the Middle East. I said that 2 weeks ago...Why is everyone afraid to say that? Its got his finger prints all over it. Its about time these people catch up with reality….While all this is going on. Pakistan has a CIA agent in prison. From what I understand he shot and killed 2 guys who were trying to rob him. Good for him on that. Our Government said to release him because he has diplomatic immunity. They won’t…How much aid would I stop sending to that country? All of it, that’s how much. Its time to send in Black ops and get him out of jail...Just like in Robert Redford’s Movie “Spy Game” I seen a sign for gas yesterday. $ 3.55.9 cents a gallon…..OMG I’m going out of my mind…
