"Although it has been customary for the Connecticut General Assembly to appropriate funds once a governor has left office, the state Office of Policy and Management said there is no money in the two-year budget enacted last spring.
At this rate a painting of Rell's predecessor, ex-Gov. John Rowland, who resigned amidst a corruption scandal, will have been hung sooner despite questions at the time over the appropriateness of the honor."

Comment....No money for a Painting....Very interesting...Let start with Ex-Governor John Roland. The GOP Governor that went to prison for a year on corruption charges...Do we want State tax dollars spent on a painting of a criminal Governor? The guy that betrayed the public trust. What's up with that? I will admit that Ex-Governor Rell was OK as far as I know but c'mon no money?
Hey, I know what we could do? Close all the Rest stops in Connecticut. Ya right..That went over like fart in church didn't it Dannel?
Better yet, save 3 Million dollars a year by Firing Calhoun the basketball coach. Why not? He's suspended for the first three games this season for breaking NCAA rules....Is he getting paid for those games? Is he so big that he can break the rules with no consequences...Its sort of like being corrupt isn't it?
