While they may not have been perfect in all respects, Mr. Hoover and Clyde Tolson were dedicated public servants and do not deserve to be maligned on completely unfounded assertions concerning their private"

There is absolutely no evidence that has surfaced supporting J. Edgar's alleged transvestitism. The first report of his alleged "flamboyant hotel parties" were written by a woman on his watch list, someone who hated him (not without reason), and who probably wrote it just to try and undermine his position. I, for one, am incredibly dissapointed that such a historical myth (twistery is my word for it) should be brought to a public who will probably accept it unquestioningly. There's an interesting story about J. Edgar and the history of the myth here: http://sevey13.podbean.com/2011/05/29/episode-035-j-edgar-hoover/.
