So says Roy Occhiogrosso, Gov. Dannel Malloy’s senior adviser.
“The governor does not support it, he believes it’s discriminatory,” Occhiogrosso explains. “There’s no evidence that population uses drugs or alcohol in a higher percentage than the rest of the population.”
According to the New York Times, there were proposals in three dozen states this year to force welfare recipients, people looking for unemployment or other state benefits to have drug tests."
