"Just as Occupy Wall Street is declaring yesterday a small victory, so, too are the protesters at Westlake Park. After what could have been a tense showdown with police, only 10 individuals were arrested**--many processed and immediately turned loose--and most of them were either adamantly hindering the arrest of others, or were those who had put up a tent, which is a known violation.
Despite that nearly every arrest of the movement has been provoked (by constructing tents, or actively disobeying the law), Occupy Seattle has thus far avoided any of the ugliness and violence seen at Occupy Boston and early on at Occupy Wall Street. This is an extremely heartening and inspiring aspect of this ongoing demonstration, and seemed to have, at least last night, given the protesters great new energy."
