"Obama Campaign Sues in Bid to Suppress Military Vote"

Obama Campaign Sues in Bid to Suppress Military Vote

In a move that could have an impact on the final result of the presidential election, Barack Obama’s campaign has sued Ohio to block a measure which extends early voting for members of the military.

The action brought quick responses from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and as many as 15 military groups.

DeWine told Fox News on Friday that he found the July 17 action by Obama campaign, the Democratic National Committee and the Ohio Democratic Party “quite shocking."

The tradition for allowing special circumstances for military personnel in voting dates back to the civil war, he said.

Comment....Obama, suing, voting, campaign, Attorney General all in the same paragraph? Something is messed up in Obama land. Could it be fear?.....Typical Illinois Politics...As sleazy as the day is long...

“Just Ask God or Not”

Warning! …..This is about God and the Church, so if you are offended when someone writes about this topic, please stop here. To proceed any further might cause peace serenity and happiness and if you are content in your misery and resentment I don’t want to say anything that will spoil it for you….

Every once and a while I get the urge to visit a Church. It’s usually when something good happens and I want to thank God personally, I make a personal appearance. I accept it when bad things happen because its usually my fault and it involves a bad decision. When those bad things happen I don’t blame God but that is a whole other story….I was brought up a Catholic. I even went to a Catholic school…… Well, a while ago I asked my God for something. You could say I prayed for it…I don’t usually do that unless its something nice for someone else. This time I asked for something for myself. It was for something impossible and I would have never thought in a million years that it would happen…Honestly there was no chance, not even a one in a million chance for this to happen to me…I have to be very careful what I ask for so I don‘t ask for much.  Of coarse this depends what point of view you have…A while ago at weak moment I asked for something that can only be described as beautiful and it was nothing short of a miracle when it happened…But that is not what this is about. This is about when I got that urge to visit a Church to say thank you and to try to figure out why this wonderful thing would happen to me. I decided to stop in a Church to see if maybe I could figure out why this happened? I should have known better…I happened to be in Norwich Connecticut the other day when I decided to stop in the Sacred Heart Church on Merchants Ave.….I parked the car, got out and walked across the lawn only to find all the doors locked. I even checked the side doors.…My first emotion was disappointment ….Why weren’t the doors unlocked so I could go in and meditate? Here I am standing outside and I am feeling locked out. This is not one of those things where you just go to another Church. This was special….I was upset for about an hour, until I thought about it for a while…I thought…Why should I ask God why this happened? Who am I to ask why? A prayer is a prayer even if you only think about it. Let it happen without asking why! Enjoy it while you can. I will use each moment of the gift that God has given me. I will be saying thank you for a long time to come…

“Afterthought“

Its finally happened! I have become an “Afterthought“. Have you ever became one of those? This is how it happened to me…A while ago, a past girl friend started calling me on a regular basis. Sometimes twice a day… Keep in mind that this has been going on for more than 2 years. She would call just to talk but more for advice and friendship and also to stay with me sometimes at the beach of coarse. I mean I wasn’t born yesterday…Believe me here I’m not looking for anything and I like it that way. I have been through all the love stuff with this kid so trust me here. There is no ulterior motive. Just good old fashion friendship. I don’t hold grudges or have resentments. Yes, there are people like me left. From the old school. Honest and friendly. I’m just one of those proverbial nice guys that is getting more and more rare to find each day. Well, it seems this young lady has found a boy friend. Believe me here I don’t care. Its true that I have wants and needs but she is definitely not one of them. I really don’t care but in a nice way. What happened was the phone calls stopped. It looked like I had lost my position as personal confidant, mentor and adviser. Then as an “Afterthought” two weeks later she called one day and asked me to do her a favor. I said I would but really, I won’t…. That’s when it happened! I felt like I became an “Afterthought”.

Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. admitted to Mayo Clinic - New York Amsterdam News: Politics Noir

After two weeks of mystery, the whereabouts of Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. are now known. He has been admitted to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., where he is being evaluated for depression and gastrointestinal ailments, according to a statement released by the renowned clinic.
There was no elaboration in the statement about the treatment and whether it was connected to gastric bypass surgery he underwent eight years ago to reduce his weight.
Since his disappearance, there were rumors galore, some of them indicating that Jackson was in a state of depression, on the verge of suicide and suffering from a severe “mood disorder.”

Comment.....Translation of "Mood Disorder"  Fear of hearing the jail doors slamming at all hours of the day and night and having a bunk mate called Bruno....

"Go Outside and Play"

Mom said, “Go Outside and play“!

Again, I received a brilliant message in an E Mail and I must pass it along. Its about the things we did when we were young and how the times have changed. I love when people with the same opinion send me neat stuff. I agree with some of this and some I don’t. but it was the way I grew up. Read on while we can still say it……..

"TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED THE 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-base paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, locks on doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had baseball caps not helmets on our heads. As infants and children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up truck on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank water from the garden hose and not from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and no one actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread, real butter and bacon. We drank Kool-aid made with real white sugar. And, we weren't overweight. WHY? Because we were always outside, playing...that's why! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And, we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Play stations, Nintendo and X-boxes. There were no video games, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVDs, no surround-sound or Cd's, no cell phones, no personal computers, no Internet and no chat rooms. WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10Th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them. Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers problem solvers and inventors ever. The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned how to deal with it all. If YOU are one of them? CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good. While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave and lucky their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?"

Comment.....The quote of the month is by Jay Leno: "With hurricanes, tornado's, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunder storms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"
Folks that’s the way it was and I am so happy to have I lived through that wonderful time. My Mom and Dad were the best that there ever was and if I had it to do over I would do it again. My first car was a used 1951 Ford (similar to the one pictured above)..that my Dad gave me……No, I bought it for 300 dollars and paid him 15 dollars a week until I paid him back. I say that because the price of regular gas was 19.9 cents a gallon. As we get older we resist change. We fight it and we will do anything to prevent it but we can’t stop it. Change happens whether we want it or not. I guess acceptance is the answer. I guess I can still I still say that ????

"2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Official Photos and Info"

2013 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Official Photos and Info – News – Car and Driver

Occupy Horsepower seems to be the sentiment at Ford these days as the Blue Oval seeks elite output for everyman. Earlier this year, we told you that the next GT500 was going to produce north of 500 HP but even we weren’t prepared for the 650 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque announced as the car debuts at the Los Angeles car show.  Is that “God Bless America” we hear? While punching out the 5.4-liter aluminum-block V-8 out to 5.8 liters, the GT500’s powertrain crew also updated the heads for better cooling, changed the camshaft profiles, added piston squirters and higher-flow fuel injectors, swapped the old supercharger for a larger and more efficient TVS unit that ups boost from 9 to 15 psi, and fitted a larger intercooler. The result is an extra 100 hp and 90 lb-ft compared to the 2012 model. The cooling system was upgraded to dissipate the excess heat, and a carbon-fiber driveshaft, upgraded clutch, strengthened transmission (with revised gearing), and sturdier rear axle were deemed necessary to cope with the extra grunt. To help the driver cope, the GT500 is equipped with an adjustable launch-control function.

Comment.....OMG...I want one but I'll have to be satisfied with my 2005...Hey, I can dream can't I ? Mine looks like that only its silver...

"Ex-official in Akron Ohio Corruption Case gets 28 Years in Prison"

Ex-official in Ohio corruption case gets 28 years

AKRON, Ohio — A former Ohio county commissioner was sentenced Tuesday to 28 years in prison for his conviction in a wide-ranging federal public corruption case.
Ex-Cuyahoga County Commissioner Jimmy Dimora denied any wrongdoing in a statement before he was sentenced. A tearful Dimora said everything he did was for the good of the county's taxpayers. The 57-year-old Dimora, also a former Democratic Party chairman in Cleveland, was convicted of racketeering, bribery and other counts. His trial capped an investigation that led to more than 50 convictions involving county officials, employees and contractors who traded bribes for government jobs and contracts.

The government said Dimora took bribes for nearly a decade, including a Las Vegas trip that involved a woman who was paid $1,000 to give him a massage in his hotel room.
Other bribes included home renovations, an Ohio State football jersey worth $3,600, high-end restaurant meals, limousine service, use of a condominium and up to $2,000 toward the cost of a Rolex watch, the indictment said.

Comment...This should be on the front page of the Washington Post with the head line, We are coming after you next!
