"America Is Not Country Anymore"

"America is not a country anymore, its a business". That is the last line in the movie, "Killing Them Softly" starring Brad Pitt, Ray Liotta and James Gandolfini and a few other unknown actors. At least I don't know who they are. The moral of the story is, if you are a dumb ass, don't rob a high stakes, back room poker game filled with mobsters. The underlying message in this movie is big business, Lawyers, Obama and George Bush have turned the United States into a commercial infested, bankrupt nation that is slowly being flushed down the drain by greed and a population of citizens that are like instant gratification clones. When I heard Mr. Pitt say that line it all made sense to me. Like any big business mired in greed, debt and corruption, it will fail. Its only a matter of time. This movie reminded me that what I have been saying all along is true but I am not alone with what I am thinking. The writers and producers of this movie cleverly inserted Obama and McCain TV campaign messages in the background during their gangster meetings in bar rooms and offices and if you think about what is going on these days, it is flash back of accurate statements. Oh, the movie? Its a fair action, hit man movie with a few other underlying messages. Check it out...

Its true. We are not living in a Nation or a Country. We have become part of a huge business machine that is out of control. We are being programed everyday to spend and buy buy buy, not thinking of the consequences. The perfect example is the picture below....Anybody want to buy an old post office? This one is for sale in Norwich Conn.

"Its Count your Blessings Wednesday"

This is, I don’t have anything to say Wednesday. The weather report said its going to be gray and cold with rain or sleet on the shore line this afternoon and tonight and that alone doesn’t help at all. I am not going to let this get me down so I think I will count my blessings here. I am healthy and feel great. I have a beautiful girlfriend who really cares about me. Willie is content and purring. In this economy I don’t owe anyone a red cent and that’s just the important stuff. I have a great apartment and take air conditioning and heat for granted. My Mustang is running well and so is my bike. I don’t have to report to a job or worry about whether or not I am going to be late. I can help people and feel great because I have long term experience and people even listen to me. Except the bully cops in Old Saybrook of coarse. I know what to do if they don’t and when I drive down the street people wave at me. Every day I make it a point to make someone smile. I try and even go out of my way to help someone who needs it. I try not to cross boundaries and again, I know what to do if I do. I never forget to say I’m sorry if I mess things up and we all know I do that on occasion. I always say to keep a low profile so today that’s exactly what I am going to do. Those are my blessings and now I have to thank someone because if you think I did all this all on my own you are wrong. Something or someone is really watching over me.

UPDATE "Old Saybrook Ct. Police Dept."

Please realize I know this happened 7 years ago.. Did you ever hear the saying "Keep it green" .. and yes this really pissed me off.. However I am just keeping it green and just maybe someone will avoid getting stopped by these inappropriate assholes.... Yes, I am still angry they did this to me....When I told him I was going to write about the way he treated me, he laughed...

The Old Saybrook Police Department in Connecticut with their lack of social skills, common sense, understanding and compassion have desensitized themselves to the level of common thugs with a badge...Read on....

On Monday October 15, 2012 something unexpected happened to me. Something so totally outrageous and unfair it was... but wait let me start at the beginning and I will tell you what happened… The day started for me as it has for the past 3 years with me driving South, down Route 95 from Niantic Connecticut to Clinton Connecticut where I have been going faithfully for 3 years to a breakfast meeting with my friends. Retired people do these things...The meeting went very well and after I went on my way as I usually do, staying away from Route 95 by taking the slow way home driving North on Route 1 heading through Clinton and then on to Westbrook Connecticut...I have been doing this for 3 years and am very familiar with the road with all its pot holes, ruts and the manhole covers that are 2 inches below the surface of the road. With front end work being expensive on my Mustang I am very careful to try to avoid these things as much as I possible can. I have been doing this for many years and I will never stop doing what I was doing that day as I'm sure many of you do also. It just makes sense. This is the part where its gets interesting... I could go into a lengthy explanation but I won't....Here is the short version... Instead of minding his own business a wanna-be police officer from Connecticut's Department of Environmental Protection was behind me and called the Old Saybrook Connecticut Police Department and reported that I was driving erratically. He couldn't figure out that all I was doing was avoiding bumps in the road.. They caught up to me in the parking lot of the Guilford Savings bank in Old Saybrook on Main st. Route 1 where I went in to buy quarters for the laundromat. I came out of the bank and when they confronted me with what he said I was doing I had no idea what they were talking about....However, after gathering my thoughts, I remembered and I gave them a reasonable explanation of what I was doing. I even offered them proof..The Sergeant of these 2 brave officers with the sadistic glint in his eye like a middle school bully, accused me of lying, called me names and put me through the embarrassment of treating me like common criminal. Now, who do you think drove up and stood by while they humiliated me? Right, the inexperienced wanna-be DEP officer who didn't mind his own business. There are many more details, one of which is, I did lose my temper after 45 minutes of being threatened, disrespected, bullied, detained, dehumanized and insulted by the Old Saybrook officers...It was at this point that I told the DEP guy in a loud voice while pointing my finger at him, that he  F__KED UP...

The bottom line here is that Wednesday 12/19/2012  I pleaded (((NOT GUILTY))) to the ticket they gave me and the State Prosecutor Nollied it when I told her what I was doing. I also told her that those 2 brave Old Saybrook cops that gave me the ticket didn't see me do what that guy from Connecticut's Department of Environmental Protection, I'm raising my voice here said I did and that HE F__KED UP" ....I think he should stick to counting seagulls or what ever it is he is supposed to do...

There is a very simple explanation for what happened and this is what should have happened.... After a visual look over and a few questions they should have apologized for stopping me and given me the "Benefit of the doubt"..None of this would have happened....Their stupidity just added to the insanity of this world......Its no wonder things are like they are today...

"Take a Breath"

Written on February 11, 2009 ....I wonder how Stephanie feels now almost 5 years later and does she still work there?

An Easthampton Massachusetts car wash employee had the scare of her short life yesterday morning when her scarf got caught in that (the way I understand it) “Big spinning wheel“. Being a scarf wearer myself I am aware of the, loose clothing rule. For example, never wear a scarf while checking a running fan belt on the engine of a car. The results of getting caught in the belt can be devastating. I guess for 19 year old Stephanie Carpluk (not making that up) of Chicopee Mass. the same rule applies when walking through the bay of a windy, noisy car wash to do whatever they do in that dangerous place. It seemed that her scarf got caught in that big spinning wheel that cleans the grill, hood, top, and rear of the car. The wind and turbulence this causes, must have suddenly caught her scarf in that wheel and pulled her up. It was strangling her. I can only imagine the helplessness, desperation and sudden fear of feeling that thick tightness griping tighter and tighter around her neck. She must have tried to get it off but didn’t have time. The surprise of that sudden pulling jolt and then her feet leaving the ground and being so helpless only moments later feeling herself passing out. All this happened in seconds with no time to even think of what to do. Stephanie hung there until a fast thinking John O’Leary cut her down with his knife. He administered mouth to mouth recitation till Stephanie came back while another customer called 911. The eternally grateful Stephanie was released from the hospital with deep red marks around her neck and dark bruises around her eyes and face. That is one kid that is going to wake up very sore but with a new out look on life. I love stories like that…Its like something out of a horror movie…I don’t know why Stephanie was in that bay like that but if she keeps that job I would suggest that she turn off the main breaker to stop all moving parts before trying to fix anything…I am sure she learned a thing or two or three....

"On Becoming a Vegetarian"

Update....So far so good..I have been successful in changing my diet. I have not eaten steroid or hormone injected beef or pork since the beginning of December. I very seldom go to a fast food restaurant but I haven't been in one of those places for 3 weeks. I still eat eggs but only the ones that are for sale on the street where I live. I can actually see the free roaming chickens that lay those eggs roaming around the back yard. They are not mass produced in a place where they torture the chickens by confining them in small cages and feeding them chemically enhanced food and I will not eat the chicken sold in any of the Supermarkets... Did you know Pizza without meat is delicious? The only hard part about this diet is knowing what meals to fix...My girlfriend helps me with that with her ideas.. She a really special person.. I feel better just knowing I choose what is in the food that I eat..On the cost, granted at times it is a little more expensive but I've discovered that there is always a sale on food in the freezer case for vegetarians.

On the cell phone charging.... I am still using last years model. The one that only maybe needs charging every three days... So here we go with another day in this very dangerous country. ...God bless all the kids going to school today... Now, where did I put that bullet proof vest?

"NY Giants vs the Atlanta Falcons"

NY Giants vs. the Atlanta Falcons today at 1 o'clock on Fox

I suppose I have to say something about this... Even after the 52-27 beating the Giants gave the New Orleans Saints last week they are underdogs in this one by 1.5 points...I think it has to do with home field advantage...You know I'm going to pick the Giants to win but this time I'm not going to say by how much...Even though a lot of key Giant players are hurt.... I just got a feeling.....GO GIANTS...

"Yesterday in Newtown"

Just a little about the horrible event that took place in Connecticut yesterday...I was eating lunch at Mystic Pizza with my girlfriend when we first heard the news about those innocent little kids. Newtown is 66 miles from where I live. My first thought was, Who would do something like this and what is going on? Why is this happening? The merciless killing in this country never seems to stop. Its like we are at war with ourselves. There are no words that can describe the pain the parents are feeling or the lives that are ruined forever not to mention the effect this is having on millions of people. The State should go into mourning and cancel Christmas, stop spending and return all their presents ....Its a time when you want to say, God bless them but its a little late for that...

"More Random Thoughts"

When I was working at the airport we used to have a guy that made homemade Italian Pasta Vasul. God, do I miss that. I like saying that…….Pasta Vasul……

I wonder if the Shuttle crew can see things blowing up in Afghanistan?

I’ll never understand how or why a guy will wear his pants around the bottom of his bottom. I’m sure you have seen that…someone told me they are called “Wanna-be’s. Whatever that is. I think its some sort of club. Someone should tell them it doesn’t help if they need to run for their life. It would be unmanly to run pulling up your pants.

My dad use to say, “Lorenzo behave yourself I don’t want to see any "monkey shines” I have no idea what a monkey shine is……. I looked it up on Wikipedia and I’m not sure I like the definition.

I think my Dad had a thing for monkeys…..At times when I would copy something or do things that other youngsters would do He would say, “Lorenzo, monkey see monkey do“……It could be why I like monkeys today……

My grandfather, father and grand mother called me Lorenzo. My mother called me Lawrence. My aunt hung the moniker Larry on me…today most people call me Lar… Like life, even your name gets shorter.

Every once and a while when I was young I would be upset over something trivial. My dad would say, “Lorenzo don’t make a mountain out of a mole hill”.

When I was young…Somewhere around 3rd or 4th grade. I was the victim of a bully. I’m sure there are many of us that have had that kind of trauma happen….I came home crying and my dad explained very carefully what to do when confronted with this behavior…..Keep in mind I was a shy quiet kid and found it very difficult and painful to be in that situation as I’m sure many of us were. My dad took me aside and told me when this bully started to pick on me and push me around to pretend to run away and when he chased me to turn quick and punch him in the nose…..He said, “The force of the punch with him running into my fist would cause his nose to bleed“. He told me that he would never pick on me again. I never got a chance to do that. The bully died 6 months later of a brain tumor. Years later I worked with his dad in the same building. It just happened to be in the building where the guy made the Pasta Vasul. I never mentioned that incident to his dad…..I’ll bet he thought of his son when he seen me……We were the same age…..

Quote…..“I've had enough of being led by the nose by this whole population which is destroying us, (and) destroying our country by imposing their ways." Actress Brigitte Bardot talking about the Muslims after her arrest in 2006.. She is an animal activist who protested how the Muslims kill animals. I'm afraid to ask...France is home to Europe's largest Muslim community, estimated at five million people.

Comment....Brigitte baby, you ain't seen nothing yet.

" I Went Back to My Old Phone"

I have a cordless vacuum cleaner that I use every day and only have to charge it once a week. ..  If they can do that, what about a cell phone?  I got tired of constantly plugging my phone into a charger so I did it... I went back to my old, well not really that old, cell phone...I reinstalled the Sim card and picture card and now I don't have to charge it every morning, afternoon and night.. They never tell you that you need to carry a charger with you all day long...To start with, here are the other things I'd like to warn you about. The WiFi in restaurants, coffee shops and fast food places is a prime place for those greedy, slimy advertiser's and I'm being very nice calling them that, to hack into your account password and use your name to sent boring trash to other people who think it is coming from you. The only safe place to use the WiFi is at your local public library and sometimes I wonder about that. I think that hack stuff happens because those phones have that password save on it and also because you have to click accept to get into their system. I had the famous Android phone and I admit with the 4G it was fast with very few problems except for the constant drain on the battery. I tried to remove or stop all the things that would drain the battery (running programs) and even went to the local cell phone technician who when I told her what I wanted, she laughed and said, "good luck with that". She tried her best and she did delete some stuff but I think she made it worse than when brought it to her... Heather has always been very nice to me and has been doing her job for a long time so I trust her. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to these things. The phone I use now has Internet if I want it but no WiFi. So far Its been 2 days since I charged it. This old phone also has a much better camera with a faster shutter speed and a radio that you don't have to pay for. It has better ring tones and its easy to handle. I think its less droppable. If you know what I mean? The screen is a smidgen smaller but I can do all the things I did with the other phone...Except WiFi of coarse. However, I can turn on the Internet and pay for it but I very seldom do if ever...So the now the old phone is my primary phone and the new phone is shut off and in the closet and I'm glad...

"Giants - Saints"

Comment ....... Here we go again ... Is that what you are thinking? ... Well, I don't know about this afternoons game .. I can only speculate...There are a few if's ... If they are over that embarrassing ONE point loss last week to the Redskins .. If the injury's aren't that bad. If they can get motivated after that ONE point loss last week. Did I say that already?  Oh, sorry about that .. If Manning can find a receiver that will NOT DROP the ball.. If the field goal kicker can kick a field goal longer than 40 yards once and a while... If he made that field goal last week in the first quarter they wouldn't have lost the game by ONE point ....They would have won by TWO ...... Seriously ... Today if the Giants win, it won't be by much. The Saints have a good team ...  Giants 17 - Saints 14.....C'mon now, you didn't expect me to pick the Saints now did you?

"Lorenzo Mind Your Own Business"

I was thinking about how people care and the TV that I don't watch... I mean do we really care? With me I think that comes from a long time ago when there were less people in this country and we all knew what each of us thought about certain things. Almost like a group opinion... We knew as a group that we wouldn’t care about what happened in another town, what the neighbors thought, the earthquake, the flood, the fire or the mass murder. We wouldn’t have known about any of that stuff so we would‘t have cared. It just makes sense, .…..Hence the advice from my mom… ”Lorenzo mind your own business"… That sentence is engraved into my mind.…Today, although I try to do that and I am successful most of the time, I feel like I should be caring more than I do. TV always tries to put you on a guilt trip with the buying things we don't need, the send money ads and the sympathy dripping commercials…..I half care at times but pretend I don’t. I care a lot at times but pretend I only half care. One of the reasons the news or commercials have no effect on me is because I really don’t care about what happens to other people in other towns or countries because I was taught not to. (TV networks and channels sell time to sponsors by having the most outrageous news) Its always about the money. The criminals and morons don’t realize that when they screw up or get caught someone makes money. In some weird way its like the criminals work for the local news channels but they don't know that. From there I get, its OK to mind my own business. Its like they have the problem and its up to me to learn by their bad experience not to do the same thing…Its just that there is so much going on and as the population grows, the more copycats want to be on TV. I mean what else could it be? I guess when you get older and wiser you have a tendency to snub your nose at negative behavior and think, what an ass he or she is and they should have known better. At least that’s what I do and its OK to do that……. I have certain people that I will help and will go to any length to help them…To others, I will care somewhat but I will sit by and learn by their bad experience not to put myself in the same position they are in…..There is so much insanity I won’t even pray for them.……I’ve got to go now… Damn, where did I put that bullet proof vest?

"Animals Feel Pain"

This all started four weeks ago when we went out to dinner one night. My new girlfriend is a Vegetarian and I ate what she had instead of my usual and it was delicious. ..Note ... I have been thinking about this for a long time and now is the time to start. I just needed the incentive. So with the help, guidance and cookbook of my beautiful girlfriend I have decided to become a Vegetarian. Not totally at first but just a little at a time. I've heard all the stories and even witnessed some of the mistreatment of these poor creatures. With all the things these humans, if you can call them that do to the animals we eat. Beef, Pork, Chickens and Turkeys are injected with steroids, hormones and drugs. Fish is on that list also. Do you think the Gulf of Mexico will ever return to what it was? The Oceans around the world and the Gulf will never be the same? .. I wonder if that is reason for all the heart problems and fat people in this country. I mean they inject the animals with steroids, hormones and drugs that make them grow fatter and faster and have more meat. You eat that stuff. It just makes sense. Not only that, it is what they do to the animals and how they are mistreated and tortured. The screaming and crying when they butcher them is beyond belief. Believe me when I say this. Animals have brains and do feel fear and pain...The farms of today are not called farms. They are called processing plants and have literally become torture chambers..The people that work in these places are worse than the guards in the German concentration camps. I'm not going to preach this stuff do the research yourself.....I will not be part of that inhumanity, insanity and greed....

"Giants - Redskins - UPDATE"

I wrote this on 12/4/2012......Read the link below to see what happened to this guy.

I said on 12/4 that one of announcers on the ESPN Giant game said that this guy "R2D2" (Griffin III) would change the game of football forever!"  I have been watching Pro-Football for years. (Giants) I said in that post that It won't take long for someone to create a Defense to stop this crazy fullback/quarterback. All that running that game (you had to see it to really understand) and The Giants only lost by (1)......Then I said that R2D2 won't make to the end of season...Someone will hit him so hard he won't remember his name ...Whatever that is....

Bleacher Report said......"His injury worse than originally thought. Redskin rookie quarterback R. Griffin completed reconstructive surgery for ACL and LCL tears. Recovery projection: 6-8 months" ....This season is not over yet...

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/1474660-robert-griffin-iii-reportedly-set-to-undergo-knee-surgery?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=nfl

Today's comment.... YOU HEARD IT FROM ME FIRST.....

“I Could Have Been a Rock Star”

If I knew, just some of what I know now when I was a young man I would have become a Rock Star…Wait, don’t say anything yet or “Jump to conclusions.” Dad used to say that last part… I did play the electric guitar for a while when I was in my late teens and early 20s. I started to get good until I had finger problems. I had and still have Raynaud's Disease, a circulatory problem and because of ulcerated finger tips I had to stop playing. Two major operations, two weeks in intensive care, two months in the hospital and a year later my disease was under control but I couldn’t play anymore. My finger tips were healing and very tender. The calluses were gone. I was afraid if I tried, the finger problem would return and I didn’t want to go through all that hospital stuff again or risk losing a finger or two…These days I always enjoy thinking that if I threw caution to the wind, made different decisions and worked really hard at overcoming the finger problems I could have been a success at playing with a band. I did have two friends who were singer musicians and they had hit records. If I only put myself in the right place with these guys at the right time and really had the guts and determination to pursue this line of work. I mean it would have been a job after all. I think and I am almost sure I could have played for a major Rock Band. Today when I hear the lead guitar for Guns N’ Roses, Journey, The Stones or of the any the big name groups from a few years ago. I get goose bumps. I know the cords and beat, the strumming technique and the timing. I can feel the energy of the crowd. I can actually feel myself playing lead or back up guitar with the crowd roaring…Its like I’m there…. Its an unbelievable feeling… I could cry when I think of what I could have done if I stayed healthy…..

Comment ....I wrote this piece on September 3, 2011 for LiveJournal and reread it just the other day. Yesterday morning I was talking to someone about what they call "a series of events". Like what would I be doing now if I did this or that. What if I made the decision to talk to someone or not talk to someone..What happens when I make the decision not to go somewhere or to go somewhere..Like the right choices or the wrong choices...Each decision we make through out our lives could change the coarse of our lives...Knowingly or unknowingly we could, without the proper guidance, "live or die"...Well, I guess I made the right decisions, some questionable but for the most part the right choices through out my life....But what if I went in the other direction? What if one of my friends pulled some strings and I landed a job as a guitar player for a rock group. Where would I be today? Would drugs have taken over my life? We won't know that but what really prompted me to go in a different direction? I was just over (cured) of a serious illness but I was a defiant young man. Sort of a risk taker....Was it fate? What is fate? What was guiding me? Do you think my fate was predetermined? Through the years I have often wondered why I am still healthy and why I am really here.Today I no longer ask that question. I just go along in life with what ever is asked of me...I know,  I know you want a Dad quote...Lorenzo sometimes you have to just  "Grin and bear it"....

"Giants and the Redskins"

Just a note for today...

The Giants are playing in Washington against the Redskins on Monday night football. The Game will be televised on ESPN at 8:30 PM...If the Giants play like they did last week against the Packers there is no way Washington can win this game.......GO GIANTS....

"Alcohol and Drug Addiction"

Re:   To Lindsey Lohan's continuing problem with Alcohol and Drugs....

It looks like Lindsey is one of those who think they can control their drinking and drug use. Some actually feel that they can cure themselves by not drinking or using drugs for short periods of time. Let me make one thing perfectly clear to all you naysayers. If you are a Drug addict or an Alcoholic. There is no CURE for Alcoholism or Drug addiction! Its how the word cure is used. To cure someone of something means that the disease will never reoccur. For example. There is no cure for Cancer. There is no cure for Diabetes. Well, there is no cure for Addiction! People like Chris Prentiss who claim to have a "Cure" are frauds. These criminals are liars of the lowest form and prey on the desperately sick and addicted who in a last resort will spend any amount of money to relieve themselves of the desire and compulsion to drink or use drugs. Alcoholism and Drug addiction is disease like no other. It is a deadly disease that tells you are not sick and that its OK to drink or use drugs again after you stop for a short period of time. The truth is, "Total abstinence" for the rest of your life is the only way to ease the craving and desire to drink or use drugs. There are a few programs that will help you. Alcoholics Anonymous being the most popular. Did you ever quit smoking only later to smoke one cigarette and find yourself smoking like before only more? If you have stopped drinking and using drugs only later to pick up a drink or use a drug the symptoms will be 100 times worse than they were before. Your chances are slim for recovery and only if you are very lucky you might recover after that first use... Usually people will start drinking because of peer pressure. After a while it becomes the thing to do to fit in and feel good about doing questionable things. That will be a false courage....The alcohol commercials are proving that. The goal for them is to get you hooked and make money. They are drug dealers! Alcohol is a drug just like Nicotine. They want to start you drinking. The younger the better. For woman, your inhibitions will disappear. A while ago before you started drinking you might have thought about what your parents taught you or what the consequences would be because of your behavior. When woman drink morals disappear and they lose that healthy caution and will do things they wouldn’t normally do. They will become prey. This will go on until someone suggests to try a joint or smoke some grass.
Contrary to popular belief, to an addictive personally Marijuana is a stepping stone drug and will lead to the use of heavier drugs like prescription drugs, crack cocaine or heroin. At that point its only be a matter of time. You will think using drugs will be easier than drinking and it will make you feel high faster.. With woman its all about emotions, feelings and feeling good, so off you go. With a guy its all about being shy and lacking self-confidence. Alcohol and drugs will allow you do things that you see on TV and that usually leads to taking chances then pain or death.. For some, addiction is a slow process. If you just drink it could take years but when you add drugs to the mix it won’t take long. Some are lucky enough to hit bottom before they do too much damage to themselves, family and friends. For others it will take longer and the longer it takes the bigger the odds that the person will find jail or death. In any event if you drink and use drugs your life expectancy will be shortened...   If you have any doubts about drinking, listen because those doubts are your warning sign! Please don't start.

"Love"

Love…  Sometimes I wonder what that emotion really is and what are “Mixed Emotions?“ I think I might have that. What is the difference between Love for family or Love for friends? Is that Love for a mate really Love or is it Lust? I realize today that I can say I love you to a person and mean it but not really like the person. Its hard to explain so I won’t even try. I will only say it has to do with humility, regret, resentment and sorrow. So far I’ve learned that there are many different kinds of love. How about the love for someone that hurt me in the past. Can I let the past go because of time and because I’ve grown and have learned a few life lessons? What I feel sometimes is the kind of love you feel when you “Half love” someone. If you can do such a thing? I describe it as a little stronger than like but not quite as much as really like. Its in between very few expectations and It doesn’t matter. As long as I don’t set myself up for a disaster. I realize I am treading in a very dangerous place. Why would I do that, you may ask? I guess its because I can and because you only live once. I always say I would never knowingly walk in a Mine field. Well, maybe if I’m really careful, just this once.

"The American Time Bomb"

They returned to Washington from all over the country in their Corporate Jets from a "Thanksgiving vacation". Talking about a "Fiscal Cliff" in Washington. I call it a "Ticking Time bomb"...Will it be the same "Backroom Deals" and excuses or just band-aid repairs? Is there anybody left in Washington that is honest with the guts enough to make some hard decisions?
Take a look at the clock. They don't have much time. The United States is imploding as I write this.... How long will it take?

Comment.......I was right...Its the same BACKROOM POLITICS, DEALS and MORE LIES......The clock is STILL ticking....

" Is this Living?"

When morals decline and good men do nothing, evil flourishes. A society unwilling to learn from past is doomed. We must never forget our history.   J. Edgar Hoover

Do you remember a long time ago when we seen something bad happen to someone we would say, Hey, be careful it could happen to you. Well, the way things are going these days we say, its going to happen to you sooner or later even if you are careful. Try not to become collateral damage. I realize that human behavior has been questionable for a thousand years and people have been wondering why people do what they do since the beginning of time. Things have escalated in the past few years and its my opinion that what is going on in this country these days is because of anger and rage. None of us is bullet proof to the craziness and insanity going on in the world today...We have come to the point here in the United States depending where you live that its too dangerous to venture outside. I realize it has always been somewhat like this, more or less but it seems like its much worse now. Ask yourself a few questions. Do you know who your neighbors are? Do you trust them? Are you sure? Would you let them baby sit your 6 year old daughter or give them the key to your house to watch while you go on vacation? I'll bet you are thinking about that? Has your home ever been invaded or broken into. Watch out there country dwellers you are on the list now. You are not untouchable anymore. I have never heard of that happening till a few years ago. Even you out there in the country in your 2 Million dollar home is not safe. Has there ever been a suicide in your family? No, but I'll bet you know someone who has? Has divorce hit your family or your kids or nieces and nephews? Do you smoke cigarettes? Could you stop if you wanted to?...Right, try it.. How about Alcoholism or Drug Addiction? Do you really know what your son or daughter would do to get the drink or drug he or she needs when craving it? Do you have an Alcoholic or Drug addict in your family? Read about addiction and learn. Have you been touched by those deceases yet...Notice I said yet...Have you felt the misery of a death by car accident on the highways these days or by the horrendous weather we are having? Has a family member or you or even a friend ever been raped or murdered? How about losing your job or your home? Have you ever had your car repossessed? Have you ever been watched so much you are starting to get paranoid? Your cell phone is really a hand held computer that will tell everyone everything. Are you or your kids addicted to your cell phone. Do you go back and get it if you forget it at home? Could you go a day without it? Try that. Those cards the Supermarket uses. The ones you scan to buy something. Right, even they know what you are doing all the time. Did you ever wonder why you need a plastic card with a bar code to buy almost anything? How about your kids. Have they left the family home to go out in the world only to come back to live with you again? Are they saving for their future and retirement? Hell, are you saving for your future and retirement? The way things are going now you won't be able to retire until you are 70. That's only if Social Security exists or has any money left. Will you be healthy enough to work until you are 70? All those wonderful politicians you voted for that spend millions to get elected or reelected are robbing you blind. Ask them about their retirement and health care. Don't believe me? Just wait, you will see! Remember when you knew the cop on the beat by his first name? The police today are more Military than anything else. They all shave their heads and wear bullet proof vests and combat fatigues. They carry automatic weapons like in a the army. Police departments of today now have haz mat teams and a bomb squads. You haven't lived until you have been evacuated from a building because of a bomb threat or a mysterious white powder scare. Kids are being shot in schools everyday somewhere in this country. And no its not just the ghettos. Oh, can I still say that? Think about that? Have your children ever been in a locked down school because of a white powder scare?  In a High School in Enfield Connecticut last week some girls peed in some cup cake batter, baked them and gave them to their class mates...(Link below)  You are being scrutinized, searched and watched everywhere you go. From the highways and stores to Facebook and Google. Now they want to look at your E-mail with out a warrant and there isn't a Blessed thing you or I can do about it. From those horrible reality shows on TV, which are not reality by the way to the movie violence, it is the worst I have ever seen. Promiscuity is normal today and modesty is nonexistent. There is nothing left to the imagination.  As the years, months and days go by the odds of something I just described happening to you increase. So if you think you were careful before, brother you haven't seen anything yet....Its all because of greed and the constant desire to take your money...They will do anything to steal something from you or sell you something. Life today is only about the numbers.

"Americans Rush to Stores on 'Black Friday"

Americans Rush to Stores on 'Black Friday'

The U.S. holiday shopping season has arrived.  Across the country, Americans are swarming retail stores in a yearly event known as "Black Friday."
Black Friday - the day after America's Thanksgiving holiday - is traditionally the year's busiest shopping day.

Comment..........This isn't as true as it sounds... Its what they want you to believe..but in comparison to the amount to the people that live here, the number of people that went to the store was minimal. I live here and if If I wrote this story I would have said that the number of shoppers dropped and the retailers that stayed opened lost money this holiday...Black Friday did not work this year. Not everyone in America can afford to this kind of shopping. Contrary to popular belief around the world most of us are not crazy. Things are really bad here and it really looks like no one can afford much of anything...

Happy Thanksgiving everyone... I truly hope everyone has a wonderful day...

"Four More Years"

You knew I couldn't stay silent for long didn't you? I mean I have to say something..Still its like beating a dead horse but now its back to the same old stuff. No changes but more spending. Yesterday I heard Connecticut is 1.8 BILLION dollars in debt...Not Million but Billion..Did I just hear someone say, Where did all that money go"?...What is wrong with that picture?....Well, now in Washington its four more years of the same or worse. More than likely, the worse. Lets take a look at what you elected or in this case reelected. Not only America's first Black President but he is from Illinois, the most corrupt State in the Union with four of its Governors and various political figures all convicted of crimes against the people. (Can I still say that?) I always wonder about the ones who didn't get caught? He's elected yes but he still can't do anything worth while, not that he would. Why? I don't think he wants too and because the majority of Congress are Republicans. He's not well liked on the hill, to say the least. He is someone who thinks spending is the only solution. Just keep in mind all those Trillions of dollars have to be repaid. Its just like all your maxed out credit cards. You need to pay all that money back. Its the same as if you borrowed money from a bank only with a huge interest rate. You knew that didn't you? Sometimes I wonder about that? Your President has never heard the quote "Money cannot buy happiness" He is someone who the Arabs, big oil, and a host of, God only knows who, have in their pocket via campaign donations. I mean what else could it be? They made it legal for themselves to do that...Huh...You don't have to have a brain to see what is going on. Only now you have a lame duck President who now has nothing to lose. Its sort of open season on anything, what difference does it make? Can't you see that grin now. Obama is a friend (cohort) of Jessie Jackson Jr. (wow, are they really staying silent on that issue, I'll bet they are banned from talking about that in the oval office..) who for the past four years has been under investigation for trying to buy Obama's senate seat and stealing campaign funds, you know buying a $40,000 Rolex watch with your money. Hmmm I wonder who that was for. Wasn't that enough warning of what is going on? Jr. and his (team) of Lawyers is negotiating with the FBI if you can believe that. Jackson hasn't been to work, feigning some kind of illness for about about 6 months but was reelected to what ever he does. I mean this guy has homes in Washington and Illinois...Do you have two homes?  I will never understand why people can't see what is going on? I'll bet his father is really pissed...You know, disgracing the family and all that stuff. I don't know about that ether, these people have no conscience...

“Heuristically Artificial Intelligence” HAL 2001

Droan Aircraft HAL

OK, are you ready for this? We all know we are being watched by security cameras in all the stores. Its just in case one of us decides to “steal” something. We know that we cannot wear sunglasses in a bank because of the security cameras. I guess sunglasses are like a disguise. The NSA (National Security Agency) is listening to random or what they call “suspicious” cell phone calls. Everything we do on the internet is spot checked by the police and the government. They check (Facebook and Twitter) for key words and pictures and who knows what else. I have purposely written about bombs in my blog just see what would happen? Nothing did. They must have said, “I’m harmless“. With a last name like Ferrari he ain’t bombing anything. Now if my name was Mohammed or Abdul I wouldn’t have tried it. Racial profiling by names? OK, OK that’s a story for another day. We are practically strip searched at the airports. The only ones who don’t have this done are the rich and our Politicians of coarse who fly private jets. Does “Corporate jet tax”, sound familiar?…Isn’t that the tax they want to cut?  Seriously, at airports they are x-raying our private parts and touching us in places that if we were somewhere else we would be calling it sexual assault. Now, there is a new threat! Explosives implanted in breasts, stomachs or up the rectum. I can‘t wait to see them searching for that. Its worth a trip to the airport just to watch. The most sick by far is hand searching a 6 year old girl at the airport. You need to see that, click on the link. Well, guess what? Do you recall hearing about the “Drone” aircraft they are using. These are pilot less airplanes operated from the ground by a guy and a computer. They are using them to spy on or to bomb in all our wars and “Not wars” all over the world? You know, all those wars they say NATO but they really mean the U.S. in disguise…Like the in the wars they say when NATO troops are killed they really mean the U.S. military…Right, those wars. Soon, if not all already they will be using Drone aircraft to spy on us here in the United States. So when you see a sign on the road “Speed checked by aircraft” You had better believe it…They? And I don’t know who “they” are but they are thinking about building large Drone aircraft to fly air freight and this is opening the door for much more. Remember HAL, (Heuristically Artificial Intelligence) from the movie 2001? Well, kids its beginning to happen.  Laugh all you want but first, really, really think about it.

 Written on November 7,2008

I know of people, family and so called friends who run and hide their heads in the sand because they fear getting old. They ignore their parents and relatives so they don’t have to take care of them. They give the obligatory Christmas plant because it puts a band-aid on the guilt and they don’t feel so bad themselves..........

"Platitudes and Political Nonsense"

© " My Life in a Nutshell "

Written on September 1st, 2010 at 9:10 AM

In 2010 Willie bit my left leg. I was rushing around the house getting ready to go somewhere and out of a clear blue sky he got mad and bit my leg about 8 inches above the ankle...Well, its 2012 now and I've since forgiven him but time moves on..

Now it looks like there will no changes or progress in this country for the next four years. Things will stay the same as they are. Greed is still alive and well and flourishing. He won the election and now we see what will happens when he has nothing to lose. I feel a strange sadness because the downhill spiral will continue, only faster and there is nothing we can do. No predictions here, its just same crap on a different day. You lost your chance to do something about it. Now remember, if you can't afford it, use that Master card to buy happiness and charge it. Max out that card because your country needs that..and don't forget to keep those Billions of dollars of aid flowing to all those strange country's.  Good luck out there you will need all the luck you can get....For now that's it. I almost can't wait to see what happens...

"A Before Thought"

© " My Life in a Nutshell "

Title, "A Before Thought"  Written the morning of June 11th, 2009....

They (our leaders if you can call them that) don't want you to believe this but things are even worse now than they were a few years ago. ...Its true we now we are being watched from every angle....Satellites, the roads and highways, stores and from what I understand, drones in the sky. Unless you never leave the house you are being watched and photographed from place's you wouldn't dream about... Rumor has it, the Drone has cameras that are so sophisticated they can see you naked. (just to make sure aren't carrying any bombs.)...I not kidding, its true...But I digress, if you are interested, click the link for "My Life in a Nutshell" and read what I was feeling in 2009....

"US Presidential Race Still Close"

US Presidential Race Still Close

At a morning rally in New Hampshire, Romney repeated his criticism of President Obama's record, telling supporters that the president has not been able to deliver on the promises he made.
"[Obama] said he was going to be the post-partisan president, but he's been the most partisan, dividing and demonizing," said Romney.  "He said he was going to cut the deficit in half. He's doubled it. He said he would focus on jobs. Instead he focused on Obamacare that kills jobs. He said he'd bring health insurance down $2,500 a year, the cost of it for the average family. Anybody here had their insurance go down $2,500? Matter of fact, the average is up $3,000 per family."

Comment.....I don't know but I have a funny feeling we are going to have a new President?

"Windsor Locks Will Object to Highest Bid for Old Factory"

Windsor Locks Will Object to Highest Bid for Montgomery Mills Building - Windsor Locks-East Windsor, CT Patch

Picture is of the Old High School. Its now the Town Hall .....

Windsor Locks officials have decided to object to the $15,000 bid for the Montgomery Mills complex, which was placed during an October 6 foreclosure sale. First Selectman Steven N. Wawruck Jr. said the board of selectmen has instructed Town Attorney Scott Storms to object to the sale in court. “Fifteen thousand dollars doesn’t even cover the court costs we’ve incurred so far,” Wawruck said. The highest bidder at $15,000 was Mohan Sachdev, a veterinarian from Windsor. He told officials he wants to restore the building for residential.

Comment...... Remember this story? I wrote about it a while ago. My old home town. Where I was raised and went to school. The old train station where I got the train to go to school in Hartford Connecticut. Although the station is not mentioned in the article, its still there, it still smells and it is still an eyesore... I wrote about how all the other towns in the area have solved their old train station and factory issues years ago... In Windsor Locks Its been at a stand still for years and as those years go by, it still goes on and on and on.. Now its another delay. The diesel trains are still going by with blaring horns, shaking the ground and vibrating windows. The eye sore smelly train station and old factory still stand there rotting away. Do not stand downwind to these places! I'm willing to bet that there is, among other things asbestos in that wind! It still comes down to money, greed and the decision making politicians and lawyers. I mean what else is new?  There is something really wrong here... Its never ever about the people.

" My Beach is Safe"

This is the beach where I walk and meditate. Taken October 23 at 5:50 pm Eastern. Its where I escape the craziness of the world. A place of solitude and peace. I was worried sick that it was going to be changed forever by this storm but somehow it escaped with only minimal damage..The cottages were barely touched. There were a few shingles missing and very slight damage. You cannot imagine how happy this makes me. I am so pleased.

"Hurricane Sandy"

Is it me or the location I'm in? It wasn't that bad. It ended here last night at approximately 8:30 PM Eastern. I went outside in the dark but was able to see a full moon and clouds.   I live on the side of the building where I could leave the windows open during the storm to hear the gusts of roaring wind. The power went off at around 3:00 that afternoon as expected. Willie was acting weird and his ears were perked as he kitty slinked around the house. Mostly keeping near the walls but not straying to far from me, although he did occasionally sit on the sill to watch leaves fly by the window...Brave little guy that he it is. All in all not that bad for being a mile away from the ocean. I haven't been out yet and I am not looking forward to some of the roads being closed and all the fallen trees. When I was working I did, not much but some line repair and I know what those guys go through... Never ever stop and ask them when the power will be back on? Just move along, smile, wave and give the thumbs up sign but keep moving. Being fully prepared for this storm I don't have that much to do. I feel bad for the folks that have to go to work...Be careful out there.  The image is from Google Earth today at 9:30 AM Eastern Time ....

Reminder .........I guess the point of me doing all this in the past was because it made me feel better and because someone said why don't you write about it. I did feel better ...I noticed that even when I first started 4 years ago I was writing about how our leaders and the nation were corrupt. I knew things were changing. I could feel the anger people had. The long look on their faces. If I wrote anything today the words would be different but the message would be the same. Its worst now than it ever was.

"The Citizens Band Radio Fad"

How many people remember the CB radio? Trucks on the highway still use them today to report the location of police although these days you don't really need to because it seems there is no speed limit. Today 65 really means 85. That's all you need to know...Remember when everyone just had to have one in their car or truck with the antenna on the back of the car they called a "Fire Stick"? Remember the 24 channel CB? Then they came out with the 40 channel and everybody had to have that. Remember, "breaker one nine, breaker one nine, how do you read me or in some cases, what's your twenty?" That meant where are you? There was absolutely no privacy, everyone could hear what you were saying. It was a time when a sexy female voice really meant something. Especially late at night on your way home from work. It was a time when everyone  had a job and didn't know what welfare or food stamps were. I remember those days fondly. I even sent a form to the Government for a FREE radio license. I still use that number today as a pass code to get on the internet. Its a long complicated number that I memorized years ago. Almost like my Army serial number. The CB Fad lasted for a while. Even today I know where they sell them. How long will the "Cell Phone Fad" last? What's odd is, a few years ago they encouraged you to buy a large screen TV. Today, "they lie to you" telling you to watch TV on your phone on that tiny screen saying everybody does it. Are they "grasping at straws" or is the Cell phone fad ending? Will you actually watch TV on that tiny screen? Its almost like the Fast-food restaurants saying "Fat is the new beautiful"...P.T. Barnum once said, "There is a sucker born everyday." and I humbly agree......

"I Don't Know What to Say?"

One of the greatest writers in American History, F. Scott Fitzgerald said, "There are no second acts in American lives" (1896 1940) He died when he was 44 years old. So very sad....  He drank himself to death...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F._Scott_Fitzgerald

"Employment Opportunity"

Let me see if I got this straight… A while ago we, the U.S.A. finally after about 10 years and Billions of dollars caught up with and killed the mass murderer, Osama ben Laden. OK, having said that, its my understanding that he will have to be replaced with another leader. Lets see, if I put an ad in the “Radical Muslim Times“…It would look like this…......Wanted, someone to take over as mass murderer and baby killer. Must be able to give classes building suicide bombs. Must be willing to strap young psychopathic men and woman with high explosives and send them into markets, schools and restaurants to blow themselves up and kill innocent men, woman and children. Its very important that you have no conscience and you must be willing to be put on the most wanted list. You must have terrorist experience and have killed at least a 1000 innocent people before applying for this position. Consideration will be given to all applicants with no formal education but sheep herder experience will be taken into consideration. No woman will be allowed to apply but we will allow you to blow yourself up.…..Well, it looks like they found one but it was decided that his position will be temporary. Sort of like a part time mass murderer not a full time killer. Don’t laugh this is true. The position is temporary or until they can find a more insane guy to apply....

Here in the U.S. the price of gas is stalled at about $3.99 a gallon. Rampant greed and corruption are out of control and Food stamp applications continue to flood into State offices. Welfare is paying for most people to live and the United States continues to give Billions of dollars in foreign aid to countries that lie to us and hate us…Here in Connecticut, its the same.  Mental terrorism at its best….

"Television 2012"

Hey NBC, CBS, ABC and Fox don't you realize that there are too many commercials on in the morning. Morning Hell, all day…Boring and repetitive, geared to the weak minded, designed to have people max out their already maxed out credit cards and to take money from people who don’t have any money…Television is to the point of embarrassment themselves. Hey, greedy producers and advertisers! Can you imagine how many people mute the TV? Personally, I mute the TV in the morning if I turn it on and I don’t watch TV at night. If you are so good with statistics you figure out why.

"No One Disagrees"

…Not to long ago I stopped for gas in Montville Connecticut and was surprised that an American young woman was behind the register. I commented that I was astonished, and after months of buying gas that it was a real American that was working in this convenience store gas station. Nancy told me that “Cumberland Farms” was owned and operated by an American family and she would only work for Americans. She has a bumper sticker that says that on the Chevy pick-up she drives. We got to talking and it seems she feels like I do. In fact everywhere I go lately I mention the Arizona illegal issue and, now get this, NO ONE DISAGREES. Everyone has their own horror story…Not one person is on the side of the illegal’s and that’s a good thing. Everyone comments about their displeasure with doing something, it could be just walking down the street or being at an event and feeling like they are in a different country. Some have said they are afraid and just go home…Usually I let national issues go or leave it to the crooked politicians to get paid under the table to take care of these things…This is something we can’t let go. Real Americans are suffering because our government refuses to act and deport the illegal’s. More and more States are getting involved so this is very far from over. This problem is more than just another issue and will not go away by burying your head in the sand…We have a President who looks the other way while real Americans suffer and pay…Real Americans with no jobs. Tax dollars being spent on stimulating the economy and saying that its starting to get better. They have been saying that months. News Flash….. Its NOT going to get better. They are the only ones who believe that, it’s a lie.…I don’t believe this President. The only thing he is good at is talking in circles… All the candidates that are running for office are talking about having a plan for getting everyone jobs. If you want to win an election and you really had a solution share that information now before the election. When am I going to hear one of these wanna-be future crooked politicians say, sorry folks there are no jobs available because there are just too many people and not enough things to do. Hey, you can only have so many fast food restaurants and landscaping jobs. Sorry folks but the illegal’s are doing the things that you did before. It must be true because one of the Bush Presidents said that. They should be saying…If you vote for me I can’t promise anything unless something is done with all the foreigners that are here illegally here in this country. Send me to Washington so I can sign legislation that will reinforce the law that only citizens can be in this country. Then we can deport all the non-citizens and ease the strain on our pocketbooks and stabilize our economy. Only then will there will be jobs…remember, with the over population in this country there can only be so many opportunities and nothing for the American People.

"Line From the Movie "Fight Club"

FIGHT CLUB [1999] Image
From the movie "Fight Club" 1999

"Man, I see in fight club the strongest and smartest men who've ever lived. I see all this potential, and I see squandering. God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables . . . slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war . . . our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off"

Comment....Line from the movie "Fight Club" with Brad Pitt and Edward Norton. I don't have to say anymore. This says it all.

"What Is the News?"

Written in 2008 as kind of a prediction of what would happen 2012...

What is the news?   Its Interesting the way local news has evolved into, "Who can beat the other TV stations in describing the blood and gore on the streets?" The more horror the better. They describe that the man was shot in the chest 4 times and was killed instantly. Then the camera pans to the street to show the blood and police tape...Do we really care what happens in the city to the drug dealers? I don't know about you but I don't. Then there is the "Caught on video on a security camera." They will run this "over and over" with the warning "may not be suitable for children." Then they show a man being hit by a car and thrown over the hood with his limp, rag doll body hitting the street. The driver then speeds away never to seen again. My personal favorite is the man or woman hit by a train then showing the blood and brain matter on the tracks. Then there are rapes and child molesters. The corrupt officials who hide there faces in a perp walk or are caught in a men's room looking for sex. The future leaders who cheat on their wives. The male coach who is accused of inappropriately touching a teen girl in school or of setting up a video camera in a girls locker room. I really enjoy the hot blond, female teacher who had sex with her 15 year student. Oh, how I envy him. You can be sure mom told on that one......Oops, lets not forget the commercial telling the audience to take anti-depressant's or a pill to loose weight. I especially love the commercials with the loud obnoxious moron yelling at you to buy a car and lets not forget the bastard singing a stupid song about his package store. Now back to the news...A crack head breaks into senior housing to steal money and kills the 88 year old woman after he has raped her. We must not forget the gang assholes who light a homeless man on fire while he was sleeping then rob a convenience store only to kill the clerk who I might add was working 3 jobs so his son could go to medical school. Now for the weather update. Rain and floods in the Midwest causing 28 children to drown in a school bus. Driver tried to drive across a flooded street only to be swept by the currant into a river. The driver survived trying to save children. I think that driver might as well have died along with the kids by the time they are done with him....Now the Local weather. Lighting strikes pregnant woman and kills her. Then, with that "idiot smile" on his face the weather man says "Back to the news. A man drills a hole in the head of his dog because the dog wouldn't listen. Woman arrested for having too many stray cats, Neighbor complained. You know the neighbor, the one with his to big baseball hat on sideways with all the gold chains who speaks that black street talk. "ITS THE DRUG DEALER THAT SHOT THE MAN 4 TIMES" I scream at the TV but they can't hear me... They show the poor lady crying as the animal control puts the cats she saved in the little kennels. Now the human interest story....Man has a prayer memorial for his wife and 2 daughters who were raped and murdered in their home during a home invasion. The two suspects were released from prison 2 weeks earlier because of over crowding. They show where the home was and it was leveled and it is a lawn now with a plaque with the names of his wife and daughters. The two men are now on death row with no hope of release. The Governor of Connecticut just abolished the Death penalty. Will these two killers have any hope of not being given the needle...Stay tuned... The worst part of all this is, all this is true.......Time for Letterman........

"My Take on the News"

Violence on TV stimulates the copycats and the Psychopaths into thinking that they can get away with the things they see on TV or in the movies because they think they are smarter. Did you notice that lately they are putting the most insane things on the TV news? They do this so people will generate more news. In a sense they are reshaping cultural values. The young people of today are, for the most part not being taught at home or in school. Look at the epidemic of bullying lately. Years ago they learned by limit setting and their parents example. Today it’s the drug addict movie star or some other twisted thing on Facebook or YouTube. They see these things and guess what? Right, they are on the news and you are saying. ”Awww isn’t that a shame…

"TV Ban"

Television is still banned in my house except for NY Giant football. Just kidding, its really about choices and choosing and I choose not to be brainwashed. Its not banned and if I have company they can watch anything they want. We usually end up watching commercial free movies on the internet because I'm finding more and more people are sick of all the violence on TV. However I do miss certain things. Once you stop doing something habit forming you also miss the good things, if there are any good things about the habit. When I watched morning television the only good things were watching my favorite weather girl Stephanie Abrams on the Weather channel and as far as I am concerned the most famous traffic girl in this area Teresa LaBarbera from New Haven 8. My favorite news girl was Heather Hegedus but she moved from Channel 3 in Hartford to Boston. I felt bad about that. I looked forward to seeing these ladies. These three woman are not only gorgeous but they have brains and are good at what they do. What I don’t like is and you knew there would be a, “Don’t like“ didn’t you? The television stations and networks exploit their sexuality to attract viewers, mostly guys, who will ultimately watch commercials and spend money. I mean what normal guy doesn’t like to see an attractive woman. If you think about it, there isn’t really anything wrong with that. Well, along with the good guys that watch and there are a few, come the perverts and scumbags that make rude comments. Their insults and dirty words are usually made on Facebook or other social media where you can be a so-called follower or fan of these woman. I often wonder why these beautiful woman would subject themselves to this scrutiny and I feel embarrassed for them. I think the bottom-feeders that say these things had parents who brought them up in a sewer and taught them to roam the playgrounds and hallways in High Schools, if they made that far, as bullies. I wonder what Mom and Dad think when they read some of the things written about their daughters. Enough said. Its very discouraging to see how much our morality has degraded just to sell something and make money…

"Soup Kitchen In Your Neighborhood?"

Soup kitchen issue packs meeting - Norwich, CT - The Bulletin

“I am devastated as to what I am experiencing,” said Sharon Reilly, who has lived at 41 Park St. for more than 20 years. “I resent the lack of representation from our politicians as well as the underhanded actions of the diocese under the guise of kindness.”
Reilly’s husband, Mark Gagne, said they and other opponents appreciate the value St. Vincent de Paul has for the needy people it serves, but that its arrival to St. Joseph School has severely altered quality of life in the neighborhood.

Comment .... They moved from an easy access in downtown Norwich to the top of the hill in a vacant Catholic school is what they are talking about. The two places are like different worlds. Living in the area now must feel like you are bringing the enemy home to your back yard. People will argue and say, Larry have some compassion. Its a Catholic thing to help and feed the poor and being a Catholic I would agree and say the same thing. I remember the neighborhood they are talking about here. It was beautiful when the school was active but I also remember a few years ago the dwindling attendance. I thought then that they would find a good use for the old school never thinking they would try to do something like this. It just doesn't fit in there! Its like positive and negative. Its hard to believe they are putting something there should be in the center of city. Maybe over by the Town Hall or the Firehouse. Or maybe over near the Court House would be more appropriate. Forgive me here but I wouldn't want to look out my window only to see, "Staggering rift raft"  walking toward the soup kitchen past my grand children who playing in the front yard. Get the point? In Windsor Locks Connecticut the diocese sold the old Rectory and Catholic School I went to. They turned it into condos and apartments for low income people. No comment on that but you can just imagine?
Like most things these days the world is changing as we speak, faster than the mind can understand. Leaving the good honest people that worked hard in the dust. This issue has been going on for a while now.. However, I will bet not one of the Politicians or Lawyers that want this to happen, live in that neighborhood.

"Days Past"

In Reference to the record breaking Skydiver story the other day...

Being an Airport runway electrician in my younger days. Hey, somebody had to install and repair the runway lights and all those little blue lights... I have met my share of, lets say risk takers. Mostly in the form of Air force Fighter pilots. Who, as I used to say had a "screw loose", all along secretly wishing that I could do what they did. Air Guard Col. Bonetti would taxi his F-100 fighter onto the approach of the runway, then would wave at me giving me the thumbs up sign, close the canopy and line up his jet fighter on the center line of the two mile long runway and take off into the sky with the roaring of the afterburner at astounding speeds...I swear to you the earth shook when he went by. They left sometimes alone or in twos, threes or fours. A long flame with a loud boom coming out of the tail pipe...Wow, what a sight, especially close up or at night...Sometimes I watched from only 10 or 20 feet away...Having had this wonderful experience day after day I believe I know what it feels like to do what they did. Doing my job as I did years ago lets me appreciate how far we have come in 2012. Sometimes I just don't believe it...

"BBC News - Skydiver Felix Baumgartner Breaks Sound Barrier"

BBC News - Skydiver Felix Baumgartner breaks sound barrier

Austrian Felix Baumgartner has become the first skydiver to go faster than the speed of sound, reaching a maximum velocity of 833.9mph (1,342km/h).
In jumping out of a balloon 128,100ft (24 miles; 39km) above New Mexico, the 43-year-old also smashed the record for the highest ever free fall.
He said he almost aborted the dive because his helmet visor fogged up. It took just under 10 minutes for him to descend. Only the last few thousand feet were negotiated by parachute. There are videos on this link....

"Low Profile and Wisdom"

Nothing new going on with me...I like to say I'm keeping a low profile and minding my own business. Being invisible seems to working well if I do those things. Fall is well on its way and in my part of the world its getting cooler every day although I did wear shorts while walking on the beach the other day. Three years ago I made the decision to move back, I lived here in the past, its a long story, to the shoreline of Connecticut and I do not regret it.. Aside from buying my Mustang in 2005, its one of the best decisions I have made in my whole life and that is saying something. I have absolutely no regrets or buyers remorse. These days that is rare. With age comes wisdom and letting things go that in the past you tried to control. To sit back and watch without gloating,"I told you so" is quite an experience. What happens when you do this is that people, not all but some family and friends will accuse you of "Not caring". Well, that just isn't true. I have the knowledge and experience and will always warn you of the pitfalls. All you have to do now is ask and listen carefully. Learning to read between the lines also helps. Making mistakes is part of learning and growing up. For some of us these things take a little longer. In the past I have done many things, some good, some not so good. I've learned by these errors. A tribute goes to my Dad who shined the light for me to follow. I don't know what I would do if he didn't share his wisdom with me. I don't think I would be writing this today.
