Lawmakers move to make sure Blago doesn’t get pension checks | pension, checks, springfield - The Telegraph:

"SPRINGFIELD — Illinois lawmakers are dead-set against Rod Blagojevich getting another dime from Illinois taxpayers.

On Wednesday, the General Assembly Retirement System, or GARS, Board moved to ensure that the former governor would not collect any of his $65,000-a-year state pension. The board adopted a rule that will require it to meet and review any application from a person convicted of political corruption during his time working for the state. The board must approve pension benefits before a pension check can be sent."

The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified! Why? Simple! The people demanded it. Economy Grew At 2.5 Percent Rate In Third Quarter : The Two-Way : NPR:

"The U.S. economy grew at a 2.5 percent annual rate in the third quarter, the Bureau of Economic Analysis estimates, up from the second quarter's 1.3 percent pace.
It adds that growth picked up a bit thanks to stronger consumer spending, fixed investment, exports and federal spending. Reuters says the news is "a welcome relief for an economy that looked on the brink of recession just weeks ago."
This is just BEA's first estimate of growth in the third quarter. It will revise the figure two more times.

Case of Jesse Jackson, Jr. is Test for House Ethics Commitee | National Legal and Policy Center:

"Last week, the United States House of Representatives Ethics Committee voted to end its temporary deferral of a case against Rep. Jesse Jackson, Jr. (D-IL). The US Justice Department had requested the deferral but has since withdrawn that request. The case had been deferred for over two years.

Jackson, the son of Rev. Jesse Jackson, is in his ninth term in the US House and is under investigation for allegations that he attempted to buy the open US Senate seat that was vacated by President Barack Obama. It has been reported that Jackson's supporters were willing to raise $1.5 million on behalf of Governor Blagojevich's re-election campaign."

"BRADENTON, Fla. -- The U.S. Department of Justice is investigating complaints that U.S. Rep. Vern Buchanan, R-Fla., broke campaign finance laws - the same allegations for which the Federal Elections Commission has already cleared the congressman after a two-year investigation.

Buchanan's attorneys said Tuesday they expected that the Justice Department would open its own probe of allegations that Buchanan directed a former business partner, Sam Kazran, to improperly reimburse his employees for contributions they made to Buchanan's congressional campaigns from 2005 to 2007."

"WASHINGTON (AP) — The House Ethics Committee said Tuesday it would move ahead with an investigation of whether Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. tried to buy Barack Obama's vacated Senate seat.
Chairman Jo Bonner, R-Ala., and ranking Democrat Linda Sanchez of California said the panel voted Oct. 13 to end its temporary deferral of the case that had been requested by the Justice Department. The department has withdrawn its request.
Jackson, D-Ill., has denied wrongdoing and has not been charged with any wrongdoing. The case was deferred in September 2009."

"October 17 ,2011 (WLS) -- Former Gov. Rod Blagojevich hasn't even been sentenced yet and already a new state corruption case is brewing. New allegations of sweetheart deals and do-nothing contracts, many of them through the Department of Children and Family Services, have emerged.

The scandal involves one of Gov. Pat Quinn's holdover appointees from the Blagojevich administration, DCFS Director Erwin McEwen, who mysteriously left state government last month. According to the Illinois Inspector General, McEwen was siphoning millions in state grant money to one of his close friends."

Chicago police said protesters who were arrested would be released after background checks were done to make sure they didn't have any outstanding arrest warrants. They could face fines for violating a municipal ordinance."

Corruption, drug arrests bring quiet hope to Arkansas city plagued by gunfire, trafficking | The Republic:

"Officials say a four-year federal investigation, dubbed "Operation Delta Blues," revealed that mistrust may not have been entirely misplaced. Hundreds of law enforcement officers swarmed Helena-West Helena in the middle of the night last week and arrested dozens of people — five of them law enforcement officers accused of taking bribes to ignore and sometimes assist drug traffickers who shipped marijuana, cocaine and other illegal drugs throughout Arkansas, Mississippi and Tennessee."

The Associated Press: Deadbeat state: Ill. owes billions in unpaid bills

The Associated Press: Deadbeat state: Ill. owes billions in unpaid bills:

"SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) — Drowning in deficits, Illinois has turned to a deliberate policy of not paying billions of dollars in bills for months at a time, creating a cycle of hardship and sacrifice for residents and businesses helping the state carry out some of the most important government tasks.
Once intended as a stop-gap, the months-long delay in paying bills has now become a regular part of the state's budget management, forcing businesses and charity groups to borrow money, cut jobs and services and take on personal debt. Getting paid can be such a confusing process that it requires begging the state for money and sometimes has more to do with knowing the right people than being next in line."

Comment.........The most corrupt State in the Union is Illinois. Obama's State, has been raped and pillaged by so many corrupt Politicians its no wonder they can't pay their Billions of dollars of bills. The way its going now... It is never going to get any better, it can only worse...Take a good long look at what is going on in this country!.....Look familiar?...... Its scary huh?

So says Roy Occhiogrosso, Gov. Dannel Malloy’s senior adviser.
“The governor does not support it, he believes it’s discriminatory,” Occhiogrosso explains. “There’s no evidence that population uses drugs or alcohol in a higher percentage than the rest of the population.”

"For those too clueless to understand why the OWS people are on the street around the country, here's your answer. It's not just about the greed and selfishness of the banks, but the greed and selfishness of the corporate world. It should be an embarrassment to everyone in Congress and the White House that 14.5% of the population had difficulty with feeding their family. How is this possible in America when we see such excessive salaries in the corporate world at the same time as falling incomes for everyone else? "

Last Night: A Victory(ish) for Occupy Seattle?: Seattlest:

"Just as Occupy Wall Street is declaring yesterday a small victory, so, too are the protesters at Westlake Park. After what could have been a tense showdown with police, only 10 individuals were arrested**--many processed and immediately turned loose--and most of them were either adamantly hindering the arrest of others, or were those who had put up a tent, which is a known violation.
Despite that nearly every arrest of the movement has been provoked (by constructing tents, or actively disobeying the law), Occupy Seattle has thus far avoided any of the ugliness and violence seen at Occupy Boston and early on at Occupy Wall Street. This is an extremely heartening and inspiring aspect of this ongoing demonstration, and seemed to have, at least last night, given the protesters great new energy."

I have a great apartment and take air conditioning for granted. My Mustang is running well and so is my bike. I don’t have to report to a job or worry about whether or not I am going to be late. I can help people and feel great because I have long term experience and people listen to me. I know what to do if they don’t and when I drive down the street people wave at me. "Why we miss Rodney Dangerfield"

It's tough to stay married.  My wife kisses the dog on the lips, yet she won't drink from my glass!

Last night my wife met me at the front door. She was wearing a sexy negligee. The only trouble was, she was coming home.

A girl phoned me and said, 'Come on over. There's nobody home.' I went over. Nobody was home!

A hooker once told me she had a headache.

I went to a massage parlor. It was self-service.

If it weren't for pickpockets, I'd have no sex life at all.

I was making love to this girl and she started crying I said, 'Are you going to hate yourself in the morning?' She said, 'No, I hate myself now.'

I knew a girl so ugly that she was known as a two-bagger. That's when you put a bag over your head in case the bag over her head comes off.

I knew a girl so ugly... they use her in prisons to cure sex offenders.

My wife is such a bad cook, if we leave dental floss in the kitchen the roaches hang themselves.

I'm so ugly I stuck my head out the window and got arrested for mooning.

The other day I came home and a guy was jogging, naked. I asked him, 'Why?' He said, 'Because you came home early.'

Gov. Rod Blagojevich Sentencing Delayed Until Further Notice | WIlliam Cellini Trial:

"Earlier this year, jurors found Blagojevich, 54, guilty on 17 of 20 corruption charges, including attempted extortion for trying to sell or trade President Barack Obama's vacated U.S. Senate seat in exchange for campaign donations or a high-paying job.. At his first trial last year, a jury deadlocked on all but one count -- convicting Blagojevich of lying to the FBI.

Mass Arrests of Occupy Wall St. Protesters Bring Up First Amendment Issues - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com

Mass Arrests of Occupy Wall St. Protesters Bring Up First Amendment Issues - Associated Content from Yahoo! - associatedcontent.com:

"A shocking move by a police commander against peaceful women protesters suddenly gave Occupy Wall Street the media attention it needed to get off the ground. About a week after the protests began the peaceful sit-in suddenly drew attention from media when the NYPD began to clash with demonstrators. But perhaps, clash is too strong of a word. After all, the evidence from photos and videos of the demonstrators show the protesters being antagonized by the police, not the other way around."

Comment............Its interesting how they play this down....Like the protesters are just a bunch of pests....

Justice Department Official: Muslim ‘Juries’ Threaten ‘Our Values’ | Danger Room | Wired.com:

"Danger Room has acquired a 2010 PowerPoint presentation compiled by an intelligence analyst working for the U.S. Attorney in the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Reminiscent of FBI training materials exposed by Danger Room in September, the PowerPoint warns of a “Civilizational Jihad” stretching back from the dawn of Islam and waged today in the U.S. by “civilians, juries, lawyers, media, academia and charities” who threaten “our values.” The goal of that war: “Replacement of American Judeo-Christian and Western liberal social, political and religious foundations by Islam.”

Protests against Wall Street spread across US » Knoxville News Sentinel:

"NEW YORK (AP) — Protests against Wall Street entered their 18th day Tuesday as demonstrators across the country show their anger over the wobbly economy and what they see as corporate greed by marching on Federal Reserve banks and camping out in parks from Los Angeles to Portland, Maine.

Demonstrations are expected to continue throughout the week as more groups hold organizational meetings and air their concerns on websites and through streaming video."

Comment......And it seems like its business as usual with no one caring. Things will get worse....Don't give up!

Local News | Investigation sought in FBI training about Islam | Seattle Times Newspaper:

"Concerned the FBI is spreading "biased and inaccurate" information about Muslims during training sessions, a coalition of 16 Seattle-area community groups Monday called for an independent civil-rights investigation of the agency's methods for teaching agents about terrorism.

In a letter to the U.S. Department of Justice's Civil Rights Division, the group accused the FBI of hiring anti-Islam experts to teach law-enforcement agents about Islam and of focusing a disproportionate amount of the training on the threat from Islamic terrorists."

Comment......OK guys there are the good Muslims and the ones that will cut your throat, blow you up and kill a classroom full of kids.....I can't tell the difference...

FBI to re-evaluate the definition of rape - Chicago Crime | Examiner.com

FBI to re-evaluate the definition of rape - Chicago Crime | Examiner.com:

"The current definition excludes cases involving oral or anal penetration and cases where the victim was drugged. It also does not include male victims.

The goal of re-defining rape is two-fold. Along with a change in attitude of investigators, it should also improve the tracking of the crime and its offenders. "

Comment.....I can hear the defense lawyers now...I just can't say it...

Report: Pakistan aid staff leave over CIA action - World Watch - CBS News

Report: Pakistan aid staff leave over CIA action - World Watch - CBS News:

"Before the raid to get Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, the CIA set up a fake vaccination program in the town where he was believed to be hiding, attempting to get the DNA of his family. Dr. Shakil Afridi, who ran the phony vaccination program, is being detained by Pakistani authorities, but has not been charged with any crime.

The blowback from the CIA operation extended beyond the Pakistani nationals left behind, however. Save the Children was forced to evacuate eight staff members after news of the fake vaccination program raised the level of danger for aid agencies in general there, The Guardian reports."

Comment.......I climbed towers on buildings, the tops of mountains and stationary towers for the maintenance of beacon lights and aircraft lighting...In my day I only used a belt to rest half way up if I had to...Its the swaying of the tower and the feeling of freedom and danger I loved.I would go to the top, do what I had to and just enjoy the view...I can understand this kid and wish him all the luck in the world...I would be enjoying the view and a bird would land next me...We looked at each other and I understood why I did it...

" A while ago, I moved to the shoreline community of Niantic Connecticut after living in Windsor Locks most of my life. I made this move for many reasons but mainly because of the negative attitudes in Windsor Locks. Don’t get me wrong, I realize things take time to change but no one there is doing anything but talking….There was nothing to keep me there. All I heard was excuses and nonsense. Years ago I grew up on Main street and Grove street, later moving to So. Center street where I lived most of my life. I actually watched them tear down Main Street and the Rialto Theater with the wrecking ball. Marie talks about the trucks with their engines running, using the parking lot at Dexter plaza as a truck stop.
