"Polo Grounds and Puppy Love"

Yesterday I found a quiet isolated beach, yes you can still do that if you ride a bicycle on the Connecticut shoreline. I surprised myself when I came across this treasure especially during tourist season. While there I had a chance to get in touch with myself and feel the calmness that I have normally but lately I have lost for no particular reason. I had the opportunity to walk along this stretch of beach and just pick my thoughts with the sound of the waves crashing in the background. At that moment I felt as though I belonged exactly where I was. I belonged at that spot at that moment in time. I was destined to be there at that moment. We can’t control what we think about because random thoughts keep overriding and interrupting by confusing us with the what-ifs and the, if that didn’t happen we would have, or I would have, or they will be, or whatever’s. Yesterday those, and this is the only way I can describe them, brain cookies were deleted and my thoughts were of the wonderful experiences in the past. It allowed me to think of the great times I have had in my life just being me from when I was a little kid, I mean very little kid like going to kindergarten or first grade to walking on main street or going to the park with my beautiful young Mother. I thought of my Dad taking me to the Polo grounds in New York City in his 1936 Terraplane Hudson to see the Brooklyn Dodgers play baseball. I remembered going in his 1951 Ford to Fenway Park in Boston to see the Red Sox play. I remember seeing Ted Williams, Jim Lonborg, Walter Dropo and Rico Petrocelli. Dropo said Hi to me as we stood by a fence waiting for them to come out of the locker room after the game. After that it was like I knew him, like he was a friend of mine. I remember my first date, my first dance, my first car. My Dad gave me that 1951 Ford. Yes, it was a junk but to me it was new and it went 70 miles per hour. WOW! I remembered my first dog, my first cat. I was thinking how inexperienced I was then but who knew….I thought about the mistakes I made and what I learned from them. Oh, and how I thought I loved my first girlfriend. Nothing was ever going to change that. I remember someone told me it was puppy love…I thought of my friends back then and where the are now. All these memories, some wonderful, some not so good just wilted the negative nastiness and bad thoughts away… I know I should count my blessings and I do. I will continue to do that from now on, or I will try too. I will try not to take things for granted and assume that I’m different because I’m not…… We are all the same and the same things happen to us, only at different times. I am not unique.

"Common Infection Raises Female to Male HIV Risk"

Common Infection Raises Female to Male HIV Risk

A common bacterial infection among women in sub-Saharan Africa sharply increases the risk of HIV transmission to men. Researchers say current treatments provide only a short-term solution.

It’s long been known that bacterial vaginosis, or BV, increases a woman’s risk of getting HIV. Now, research shows an HIV positive women, who also has the bacterial infection, has a three-fold greater risk of transmitting the AIDS virus to her male partner.

“BV is a condition where the normal vaginal flora, which is predominately Lactobacilli, get replaced by abnormal vaginal flora, predominantly anaerobic bacteria. There’s a large number of species that are associated with BV. It’s not a single bacteria that causes BV, but it’s multiple numbers of these abnormal vaginal flora that replace normal vaginal flora,” said Dr. Craig Cohen, lead author of the story.

Comment .......With world Aids day almost upon us, here is a little tidbit for all you promiscuous men and woman who think Aids is gone and forgotten...A note to all you young folks that don't remember the epidemic in the United States approximately 20 years ago and all the young people that suffered a painful and horrible death because of this incurable disease. This disease is common now among IV drug users that share needles but just having sex with someone can infect you. Keep in mind that when you have sex with someone its like having sex with all the partners that person ever had in the past. To anyone that has had a (STD) sexually transmitted disease, that was your warning sign.....As of 2010, approximately 34 million people have HIV globally. Of these, approximately 16.8 million are women and 3.4 million are less than 15 years old.

Just the name sounds scary...Human immunodeficiency virus infection / Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (HIV/AIDS)

"The Rules I Try to Live By"

I try to live my life by certain rules. Its more of a “Code of Conduct” than anything else. I said that to someone the other day and surprised myself. I started to think about it and this is what I came up with. I mean, I know that there are things I won’t do or lines I won’t cross. Its also knowing the consequences that prevent me from upsetting the apple cart.
1. I must realize that I can’t control the things that happen around me or the decisions that other people make.
2. I have to remember each day, that somewhere there is a God that will help me to NOT wonder why everything is happening, not only to me but to everyone else.
3. I must remember each day to let that God take care of me and the people around me but I cannot to stop caring about everyone.
4. Take a long look at myself and my behavior now and in the past and try not to repeat the negative things.
5. Discuss and tell the truth to someone or my God about my negative behavior.
6. I have the desire and the ability to let past discretion's be forgiven and not to hold grudges.
7. I must have humility realizing that everything isn’t always about me.
8. If necessary make a list, on paper of people I have hurt or have been at fault for hurting.
9. I will apologize to the people that I have offended, not getting anyone angry while doing this. This could be complicated but it is possible.
10. Each day I must remember the things I have done and if I do anything to hurt someone voluntarily or involuntarily, immediately admit it and apologize.
11. I must work on these rules each day, not expecting things to change overnight.
12. Having discovered that by living by this code, I should be helping others with kindness and patience and living each day being tolerant with everyone.

"Meriden Conn. Clerk Killed"

Meriden clerk killed after handing over money during robbery - WFSB Channel 3

MERIDEN, CT  Meriden police are investigating a deadly overnight robbery that occurred at the EZ Mart on East Main Street.
Police responded scene early Wednesday morning after receiving word about the robbery gone bad that left the well-liked clerk dead.
A witness inside the store at the time of the robbery told police a man entered the store brandishing a handgun and demanded money.
The clerk then complied with the killers demands and handed over the cash, but he was then shot in the chest before the suspect ran out of the store.
"I don't understand," said John Dudzik, of Meriden. "He was a very nice man. Somebody robs you, gives him the money, get out. You don't kill him!"
Police are not saying if the witness was another employee or a customer, and if that person was hiding or was in plain sight.
Meriden police said the clerk was transported to Midstate Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Comment .....There is something very disturbing about this. I had to post this morons picture..

Book Review - "Living Dead Girl"

If you have ever listened to a book on CD do not miss, "Living Dead Girl" by Elizabeth Scott, read by Kate Reinders. The copy I listened to happens to be on what they call a "Playaway". Check your local library for these things if you don't have a player. Its a small version of a tape player the library provides you with. All you have to do is put a triple A battery in and have ear buds. I just happened to find this story in that section of the library where these tiny players are. I had no idea who Author Elizabeth Scott was and I was looking for something interesting to read. I just happened to come across this gem by chance. Its important to mention that the reader is Kate Reinders. She is a 32 year old Broadway actress. This fictional story was expertly written by Elizabeth Scott. Its about a 10 year girl who was kidnapped and held captive for 5 years during which she was subjected to a painful, of what I call "Brainwashing" in which she is required to take care of this man. Ms. Reinders reads this story in the voice of that 10 year old girl. I have listened to 100's of books on tape and CD's and I honestly say that I have heard the best readers in the business. Ms. Reinders reading is astounding and alarmingly realistic.. I can only say it was like I was there and this ten year old girl was telling me her story face to face. I felt like I wanted to save this little girl but I couldn't...You must read this story read by this young woman. You won't regret it....

"U.S. Terminates Funding for Pakistani 'Sesame Street"

U.S. terminates funding for Pakistani 'Sesame Street' | Detroit Free Press | freep.com

The U.S. has terminated funding for a $20 million project to develop a Pakistani version of "Sesame Street."
The U.S. has terminated funding for a $20 million project to develop a Pakistani version of "Sesame Street." / 2006 Sesame Workshop
KABUL, Afghanistan — The U.S. has terminated funding for a $20 million project to develop a Pakistani version of "Sesame Street," the U.S. Embassy said Tuesday.
The decision came as a Pakistani newspaper reported allegations of corruption by the local puppet theater working on the initiative.
The organization in question is the Rafi Peer Theater Workshop, a group in the city of Lahore that jointly developed the show with Sesame Workshop, the creator of the American series.

Comment.....So the next time you drive up to your local gas station remember, that part of the Federal Gas Tax goes to paying for something like this...Keep that mind when you pay your Federal Income Tax and when give your Corrupt Washington Lawyers who disguise themselves as your Representatives a raise. Remember this when they help themselves to donations and campaign funding. Keep in mind that this is only the tip of the iceberg here...Obviously someone got caught and it is an election year after all. Remember things like this before you vote for, "You Know Who".....Remember the $20 million dollars of your Tax dollars someone tried to steal....I'd like to know who is responsible for thinking of something stupid like this...Does this person still work for the Government? Did anybody have the presence of mind to check for hidden bank accounts. For off shore accounts? I have never heard of anything like this...Stop all aid to Pakistan and Afghanistan immediately !!! The FBI and the CIA should do a complete investigation on who ever thought of something like this....

"How Do They Know Those Sprinters Finished In A Dead Heat?"

How Do They Know Those Sprinters Finished In A Dead Heat? | WBUR & NPR

In this handout photo provided by the USATF, Jeneba Tarmoh (bottom, lane 1) and Allyson Felix cross the finish line at exactly the same time in the women's 100 meter dash final during Day Two of the 2012 U.S. Olympic Track & Field Team Trials at Hayward Field on Saturday in Eugene, Ore. It's their torsos, not head, hands, feet or arms, that matter.
As we wait to hear whether sprinters Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh will flip a coin or race again to determine who gets the third and final slot in the 100 meters for Team USA at the London Olympics, we've been wondering:
Just how do officials determine exactly how fast world-class sprinters are and just who has finished first, second or third when they're flashing past?

Comment.....Close but who gets the cigar?

"Merry-Go-Round"

I didn’t know where to begin. So I thought I would write a little about everything. First, I always wonder why I am letting the things that are happening in this country and around the world bother me so much and I don't even watch TV...Its like business as usual everywhere. Its never ending. How about the wars and the brave solders we have scattered in the most horrible places around the world? Not to mention it costing Billions of dollars a day. There are bombs going off in the streets all around the world killing hundreds. The crime and death locally are meaningless now like its too boring to report. A local drug overdose death doesn't even make the news anymore. The drunken and drug addict entertainers and wanna-be celebrities will be noticed depending who they are. A minor actor or actress or "So Called Celebrity" will maybe get a line or two in the newspaper or on TV. Reminder, these people are only people who have had a momentary light shining on them. They are the same as us. The difference between us and them is you know their name because of a TV show or a movie…I could write about morals but now that is a subject that is almost taboo, in fact that word is almost non-existent...We all know the perverts in show business wouldn't want all those young girls staying dressed modestly. Contrary to popular belief these young girls, if they are talented don't have to wear skin tight jeans or show cleavage to sell their music. How about the thousands of commercials that are all lies, scams and false promises that take advantage of people that don’t know any better. Then of coarse there are web cams everywhere that spy on you. Keep in mind that everyone today has a cell phone or pocket computer with a camera on it. Then there is the issue of the National debt. The countless corrupt lawyer politicians in Washington that have changed the laws and are bending the rules everyday making it legal to steal your tax dollars. Then of coarse there is the stock market with all the insider trading they are getting away with..Then there is the economy with the outrageous gas prices and the suffering American citizens that are going to end up paying for all the insanity going on in this country and now around the world. So as the welfare rolls get bigger and bigger and the illegals keep pouring into this country collecting all that free money. I think of how fortunate I am to have been born here in America and had parents that taught me to respect other people and how to be honest. They stuck by my side and taught me by example how to deal with what is happening around me…The way it is now I feel like I am on a never ending "Merry-Go-Round" and I just don’t know where to get off.... Maybe that's a good thing....

"FBI Employee Sues Over Attractiveness Discrimination"

FBI Employee Sues over Attractiveness Discrimination

FBI Employee Sues over Attractiveness Discrimination
Erika Bonilla
Erika Bonilla is suing the Dept. of Justice because she was discriminated against … for being too attractive.

Formerly an employee of the FBI in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Bonilla moonlighted as a professional singer. She claims her singing career and good looks provoked jealousy from co-workers beginning in 2007, when, after four years on the job, she received a new position as an administrative specialist.

According to her lawsuit, four other FBI employees thought the position should have gone to another woman, Maria Grossetete, and management failed to stop the harassment Bonilla endured, including false rumors about sleeping with ”executive management.”

Comment....And you heard it here second....Honest to God I don't make this stuff up. Hey all that cleavage could be very distracting...But that's just me....

"Opinion: Sandusky is the 'definition of evil"

Opinion: Sandusky is the 'definition of evil' | HLNtv.com

 By Jane Velez-Mitchell
In an age of Casey Anthony verdicts this jury's decision is a victory for common sense. The notion that eight young men would take the stand and reveal crushing sexual humiliations as part of a vast conspiracy to make a buck just offended our intelligence and demanded too much suspension of disbelief.
Finally, a jury that realizes "beyond a reasonable doubt" doesn't mean beyond any doubt whatsoever.
In this day and age of celebrities (all kinds, stars and athletes and even politicians) behaving badly and getting away with it, I had begun to suspect that famous people (however they became that way) were virtually impossible to hold to a reasonable standard of acceptable behavior.

Comment....Great story...I couldn't have said it better...

"Bar Code Amy"

I went to Wal Mart the other day to do some shopping and when I went to pay I met “Cashier Amy“… I said, “Hi Cashier Amy, how are you“ ? She replied with a cute smile, “I’m fine sir but I’m not a cashier….. I wondered why it said on her name tag “Hi my name is Amy” and right under that, the word Cashier written in black letters on a yellow background and she was working the cash register. So I asked her with my best social skills smile. I said, “Why does it say cashier on your name tag“. “Oh, sir I don’t work in the front anymore I work in the back and I just haven’t taken it off the thing yet.” She said, looking and pointing at the badge. “Oh, I said, "then how are they going to know what you do Amy?” “Are you going to have the bar code tattooed on your neck or on the inside of your arm? Wait a minute……. By now, you do probably realize I’m kidding, right. I am saying this to her and I am very serious and really trying not to smile…Meanwhile this kid is serious when she replies, “I'm not going to let them put any tattoos on me“, and in the next breath says, “Piercing I don’t mind but not tattoos“. I said, “You do know that sooner or later that’s going to happen, Wal Mart always wants to know where its employees are and what they are doing”. At this point I said, “Sooner or later they will tell you to do that“. Its either that or you won’t have a job. She seriously agreed but by now the line was getting longer. She said her obligatory, Have a nice day" and I left before I started laughing …..I believe that in the future this will happen…..I said it the other day, that there so many people in this country that we don’t know who are enemies are…The only solution is a neat little bar code or a GPS implant somewhere on your body…. They have them on dogs and cats, why not humans? It just makes sense…Cashier Amy wasn’t shocked and she actually thought I was serious. To her the idea was just one of those things that will happen sooner or later and acceptable……How do you know there isn’t some kind of locator on your body right now? A microscopic pin point that can hear and find you……Wait, there is and its called a cell phone…..Wait again, the reason the Government doesn’t care how many people there are in this country is…What’s the first thing they buy when they get to this country? A cell phone…Wow…. I could be on to something, hmmm.

"Liam Neeson "Taken 2" (Trailer Released)

‘Taken 2’ trailer released: Liam Neeson still packs a punch, as Albanian kidnappers find out   - NY Daily News

Liam Neeson returns to screen as ex-CIA killer Bryan Mills in "Taken 2."

Rule No. 1 in Albanian thug school should be: Never piss off Liam Neeson
Twentieth Century Fox released the international trailer for “Taken 2” Thursday, quickly proving that in a multiplex dominated by Avengers, Spider-Men and Dark Knights, there’s still plenty of room for the 60-year-old action star.
Neeson returns as former CIA killer Bryan Mills, who was last seen killing just about every Albanian kidnapper in Europe to free his abducted daughter (Maggie Grace). Well, now it seems, their relatives want some payback.

Comment.....Taken is another of my favorite movies...Love a good revenge movie...Never mess with an Ex-CIA killer. I can almost tell you what is going to happen..

"Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin film second series of Homeland"

Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin film second series of Homeland in Israel | Mail Online

Tantalising: Fans of Homeland will be desperate to know what is happening here as Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin shoot in Israel

Fans of Homeland will be desperate to know what is happening here as Claire Danes and Mandy Patinkin shoot in Israel...

They give little away, other than to reinforce the fact that the action won't slow down, as Danes is seen stomping around looking preoccupied or deep in conversation with Mandy Patinkin's Saul.
Homeland is based on the hit Israeli series Hatufim (Kidnapped), but according to reports will divert from it's original source material even more.

Comment....Great series in fact its one of the best I've seen in a long time...Check this site for some great pictures of Claire who is the best...and a preview of the first episode...I can't wait for it to begin...

"Mall Security, Waterford Conn."

Yesterday I went to the Crystal mall in Waterford Connecticut, it was getting hot outside and while looking for a shady spot to park my car. I seen a mall security guard in the parking lot with his white security van. He was out of his van standing near someones car checking the car registration with a hand held scanner through their windshield. You know that little number behind the glass in front of the driver seat. Actually its a bar code that has all the information on that vehicle. including your name address and phone number. I know real police officers have those scanners..The scanner looks like the price checker at the supermarket...Check the picture...A security mall wannabe cop checking your personal information with a electronic scanner for I don't know what. The car was legally parked..This is new to me...Its one thing for a real police officer or the motor vehicle department to do this but who and what gives the right to a shopping mall security guard to do something like this? Its none of his business who's car that was...Years ago there was something called, "Invasion of privacy". If there was something wrong or suspicious with that car he should be calling a real police officer to check it out...Be careful out there they are watching from everywhere...

"CIA Documents Bush Ignored Seven Warnings About Attacks"

New CIA Docs Show Bush Ignored Seven Different Warnings About Imminent Attacks | Crooks and Liars

WTC.bmp
Especially in light of the refusal to release the JFK assassination files, it's mind-boggling that they've finally released this information. Seven different times, Bush was informed of imminent strikes by Bin Laden, and he simply ignored them? I guess they were so determined to go to war, they wanted any excuse they could get...
Over 120 CIA documents concerning 9/11, Osama bin Laden and counterterrorism were published today 6/20/2012 for the first time, having been newly declassified and released to the National Security Archive. The documents were released after the NSA pored through the footnotes of the 9/11 Commission and sent Freedom of Information Act requests.

Comment...This is new today...Interesting..This thing about Bush seeking revenge against Iraq sticks in my mind...Now years later with all this water over the damn does it really matter? Now we are billions and billions of dollars in debt and a lot of young men died in my opinion for nothing. I didn't read any of this stuff but I thought you might like to check it out...

"Photogs Give Differing Accounts in Alec Baldwin Fight"

Photogs Give Differing Accounts in Alec Baldwin Fight: Sources | NBC New York

|
Accounts Differ in Baldwin Fight
Photographers who witnessed actor Alec Baldwin outside the city's Marriage Bureau on Tuesday are offering investigators different accounts of whether Baldwin actually threw a punch, sources tell NBC 4 New York.
If the actor did strike a photographer he could be charged with assault, sources say. Sources say the Manhattan district attorney has requested Santos' medical records.

Comment .....Being somewhat of a photographer myself I realize how important it is to have a telephoto lens when taking a picture of a guy who is known for his, shall we say, hot temper...I'll bet even the cops will walk away on this one...

"Pakistani Singer Ghazala Javed Gunned Down"

Popular Pakistani Singer Gunned Down

PESHAWAR, Pakistan -- Popular Pashto-language singer Ghazala Javed has been shot dead along with her father in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar.

Local authorities said Javed's husband, whom she'd left after discovering that he had another wife and resisting his demand that she end her musical career, was a suspect.

Police and medical sources told RFE/RL’s Radio Mashaal that Javed, who was in her early 20s, was shot by men riding on a motorbike as she left a beauty salon on June 18.

Comment... I can't even imagine the rage it takes to kill this innocent woman and her father...

"Facebook"

This note is to anyone asking me to play a “Game on Facebook“! Thank you for asking but I don’t play online games. In the past computer games were fun and I have almost 5 million of those worthless tokens on Pogo. Now, all these game sites are used to gather personal information on you to sell to someone or to sell you something. I will not be a part of this nonsense. I have a Nintendo DS and I will go to a Game Stop store to buy and trade games in if I need any…Its very inexpensive and much more fun. I prefer to keep a low profile and the less these greedy bastards and morons know about me the better it is…I don’t watch TV programs or news and haven’t in four months (a new record) and as a result I don’t see any of the ads or commercials… Lately the Network internet pages are coming with pop-ups and talking ads…I don’t go to those sites anymore! I delete all the cookies on my computer 5 times a week. I will only buy what I need and only if I need it. To show me a commercial or ad is a waste of your money and my time…. If I do happen to see an ad I will go out of my way to tell people NOT to but the product. In fact I will tell people its bad just create doubt so they won‘t buy it…If something I have is broken or doesn't work I will fix it rather than buy a new one…I could go on and on…I said all this before in past posts…Anyway, thank you for asking but no thank you I don't play games.

"Jenny McCarthy: I Sexted My Son's Dentist"

Jenny McCarthy: I Sexted My Son's Dentist | NBC New York

|

Jenny McCarthy: I Sexted My Son's Dentist
Jenny McCarthy said she accidentally sexted her son's dentist.

Former Playboy playmate Jenny McCarthy is no stranger to posing nude. But she said she didn't mean to send her latest image to an elderly dentist.
McCarthy accidentally sexted a naked picture of herself to her son’s nearly 80-year-old male dentist, when she included the scandalous photo in a batch of images of an abscess in her son's mouth. By mistake, she "sexted" him with an image mean for her Bears boyfriend, Brian Urclacher, according to a report.

Comment....I don't know what it is (yeah right) but she has been a favorite of mine for a long time...Ever since she was a host on "Hot Rocks" and of coarse the Playboy thing...She is a very funny lady and being blond and all I can see her messing up those text messages...Wish she would (accidentally) send one to me...

"Fathers Day 2012"

As far back as I can remember my dad always wore a hat. He never wore it in a Church a restaurant or in the house like they do today but only to work and when he was outside. I remember him taking off his hat when he went into a building. I remember him tipping his hat to the ladies...He was a very respectful and courteous...  In the winter he wore a Navy pea-cap. It was around the time of World War two and I remember he said he was exempt from the Military. He told me, instead of the Military and because of our family, he called us "dependents" and at that time they only drafting single guys...So he worked in a place called the Springfield Armory in Massachusetts where they made guns for “World War Two“. He was a Machinist. ... My uncle, my moms brother, his name was Frank He was in the Navy building and repairing airbases on those islands in the Pacific. He was in what they called the “Navy Seabees“. He told me he "drove a bulldozer"..I remember he gave my dad a Navy pea hat and a pea-coat for the winter. He gave me a clock that he said, "came out of a Navy plane that crashed". They called it a, pea coat and pea hat because of the material it was made of. I often wondered what the “P” meant…In the summer my dad wore a baseball hat. He was a great baseball player. He played third base on the town baseball team. The name of the team was the "Kettle Brook Team". It was named after a once popular fishing brook in our town. I think its a swamp now by the Congregational Church on Main St....The uniforms they wore were like the Yankee pin stripes but my dad was always a Red Sox fan. He got to see them win a World Series before he died. He was happy about that. My son Adam even put a Red Sox hat in his coffin. He really would have liked that.
I especially remember one summer afternoon many years ago when they were playing baseball at the local ballpark near St. Mary's school in Windsor Locks Connecticut. Dad told me that the famous "Babe Ruth" and the Yankee baseball team visited the park while they were on some kind of tour. I remember one time at a game when I was standing near the fence with my fingers holding the fence and he came over and told me to never hold the fence like that because a foul ball might hit my fingers. I will never forget that. To this day I will never lace my fingers in a Chain link fence.....He always took care of me...He use to say to Mom to "Keep an eye on me" or "Watch over me" all the time. I was watching a game one afternoon when the batter hit a line drive, a hot grounder, a one bouncer to him at third base and he caught the ball and threw it from deep in the hole to first base and got the runner out...Everybody in the grandstand cheered. I didn’t know how important that was at the time but he was very excited when he explained it to me. His nick name was “Pap the Rooster”. All the players had nick names. From that moment on my Dad had the nick name "Pap". No one ever called him Joe which was his real name. I have no idea what that means but I think, “Rooster” is a term for a baseball infielder. I was only a little kid and very young but I remember that. When he was older and done playing baseball he wore a golf hat. For years he played golf all summer long at the "Copper Hill Country Club" in East Granby with my uncles and his friends. In the winter he went bowling. First at Blanch's lanes on Grove St. then at the "Villa Rose" on Spring St. in Windsor Locks on Tuesday and Thursday nights. I went with him because my Mom worked and I remember helping the owner of the bowling alley set up the pins. They said were “short handed”. I was called "the pin boy" and they paid me 6 cents a string...The bowling pins were called “Duck-Pins“. I remember the hat he had at the time with a bowling pin logo on it…On Sundays he wore a fedora to church like the one Humphrey Bogart wore in the movies. I have a picture of me and my Dad all dressed up for Church and we both had a fedora on. It looked like I was 6 or 7 years old. .
Dad, I will always remember the things you taught me, the wonderful example you set and the priceless things you said to me. A day doesn't go by when I don't think of you and think, what would my Dad do in a situation this? It never fails I always make good choices when I do that.. It was an honor and a pleasure to take care of you and "Watch over you" in your last days like you took care of me.. I really miss you Dad... Happy Fathers Day.... I love you.....

"News From the Future"

I wrote this piece around the time of the British Petroleum oil leak In the Gulf of Mexico...I called it the "Future News"

Washington D.C. May 26, 2090.…In the news today, the Al-Qaeda Daily, Arab Press and the Muslim news reported that the Arctic ocean, the last ocean to be free from the leaking oil from the Gulf of Mexico is now totally polluted…officially, the U.S. White House reports and confirms that all oceans are now thick with oil the consistency of pudding. The President was at a fund raiser yesterday seeking donations for his reelection but as an afterthought confirmed that there is no more sea life living in any ocean. A committee is being formed to oversee the existing committee on discussing a bail out program for British Petroleum. …British Petroleum said today they are still working hard to cap the leak in the gulf by putting sand on top of the hole but reports it’s a time consuming job. Meanwhile the last of the Whales and Sea Turtles are putting themselves on shore preferring to suffocate on land rather the in the ocean. When asked about the scarcity of drinking water in the United States the president said, the government will provide bottled water on the third Wednesday of every month. Limit is two 12 once bottles per family of four. Non-citizens will receive six 12 ounce bottles. When ask why that is…The president replied, because we need to be nice to our foreign friends. They showed great courage crossing the border in all that gunfire. In other news the Senate just voted a unanimous yes to appropriate from American taxpayers, the money to build a Western White House in Dubai.
In other news…. The committee overseeing the committee seeking to elect Mohammed Abdul Mohammed Jr. President of the United States is seeking funds from the United Arab Emirates and Dubai. Dubai, the capital of the Mid-east recently completed building an artificial ocean with profits from raising gas prices in the United States $291.99 per gallon.…. If elected he will be the fifth President to admit being a Muslim of the highest order.. When asked, He said he will, “Use American Tax dollars to build a Mosque in every Federal building in the United States. “And that’s a campaign promise”, he was heard saying in Arabic to his press secretary. He later commented that the new law concerning woman will go into effect on June 1st making it mandatory that all woman must wear their full robes or suffer the consequences of being stoned on the city street by the Jihad police…And that’s the News for today, May 26, 2090...Stay tuned…

"Goodfellas' Former Gangster Henry Hill Dies in LA"

'Goodfellas' former gangster Henry Hill dies in LA

In this Feb. 22, 2005 file photo, Henry

LOS ANGELES - Henry Hill, who went from small-time gangster to big-time celebrity when his life as a mobster-turned - FBI informant became the basis for the film "Goodfellas," died Tuesday. He was 69
Longtime girlfriend Lisa Caserta told The Associated Press on Wednesday that Hill died of complications from longtime heart problems related to smoking. An associate in New York's Lucchese crime family, Hill told detailed, disturbing and often hilarious tales of life in the mob that first appeared in the 1986 book "Wiseguy: "Life" in a Mafia Family," by Nicholas Pileggi, a journalist Hill sought out shortly after becoming an informant.

Comment..... I'm sure you all remember the movie... It was one of my favorites...Here is the scene where Joe Pesci's character Tommy calls out Henry Hill played by Ray Liotta in what I call the "Why am I funny, do I amuse you, scene?"....

Ex-officer pleads no contest in deadly crash | WTNH.com Connecticut

Robert and Michael Koistinen
HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A former Windsor Locks police officer pleaded no contest to second-degree manslaughter Tuesday and is to serve more than five years in prison for an off-duty accident that killed a teenager who was riding his bicycle in 2010.
Michael Koistinen, 26, of Suffield Conn. entered the plea in Hartford Superior Court, where his trial was scheduled to begin next week. He had faced up to 30 years in prison on charges of first-degree manslaughter, misconduct with a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence, before he reached a plea deal with prosecutors.
Koistinen had been drinking alcohol and was going more than 70 mph in a 35 mph zone when he hit Henry Dang, a 15-year-old Windsor Locks High School sophomore, who was riding home from a friend's house at about midnight, authorities said.

Comment....He is doing the right thing...I'm sure he didn't want to but I can just imagine the evidence the they had against him...Not to mention that whole family in court staring at him and the Jury...

Delighted Dog Goes Wild when Airman Returns" Video

Delighted dog goes wild when airman returns | Entertainment - WESH Home

Comment ..........This is my favorite good story of the week and its only Monday...Who says dogs have no feelings?

WESH - A dog had an ecstatic reaction when she woke up and found her airman owner back from a long deployment.
The beagle couldn't contain her excitement, so she jumped into her owner’s arms and kept on yelping as she licked her face.
U.S. Airman Amanda R., who had just returned from a six-month deployment, went inside her home and saw Daisy sleeping in her dog bed.
“Hi, baby!” Amanda greeted her dog. Upon recognizing her, Daisy leaped into her arms and barked excitedly as she licked her face. Amanda tried to calm her dog and tried to hold Daisy close to her, but the happy dog kept yapping and bouncing around her.
“I know, I know. Oh, I love you,” Amanda reassured her pet. Daisy calmed down for a moment when Amanda robbed her ears, but resumed running back and forth.

"Muslims Sue to Stop NYPD Surveillance"

Muslims Sue to Stop NYPD Surveillance - 'We thought this died with McCarthy era'

New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly says routine surveillance of Muslims is perfectly legal.A group of New Jersey Muslims and organizations are suing the New York City Police Department over its discriminatory and "unconstitutional" practice of monitoring law-abiding Muslims, they're charging in a federal lawsuit. “The facts are just so compelling, what the NYPD is doing is egregious," said Glenn Katon, legal director of Muslim Advocates, which is representing the plaintiffs. The AP earlier this year revealed a secret operation in which New York police were monitoring Muslims outside mosques and religious schools, and at student meetings in New York and New Jersey. Investigators have taken down license plate numbers of cars parked at mosques, and noted patrons in shops that cater to Muslims.

Comment.......I seen this the other day and I have been thinking about it...What should be done is, if its at all possible is for the the good Muslims to turn in all the bad Muslims. It just makes sense doesn't it? Would someone tell these people? You could build a giant Mosque for the bad Muslims then the good ones will be by themselves. Are there two Korans? One for the good Muslims and one for the bad ones. Are there two Allah's? A good one and a bad one? Why don't these people get together and have one good Allah? This is all much to complicated for me...I think today I'm gonna thank my God for not making it hard for me to decide who is good and who is bad...

"1000th Consecutive Entry"

1000 entry's written before 12/11/2010...This was written 3 years ago...I look back on occasion just to see if things are getting better. You be the judge of that..Hey, if I don't say it who will?

This is my 1000th consecutive entry to the Blog page I have at LiveJournal. http://tyler306.livejournal.com/ That’s almost 3 years with out missing a day. From this point forward, my entry's won’t be a daily occurrence. I have no reasons or excuses. To me it was a goal to post every day for a 1000 straight days whether it was with a movie, pictures or words. No, I’m not going anywhere, its just I set my mind to do this and I did. I am not leaving. I’m just going to take a break every once and a while and not feel guilty about it…I will post but not every day. Lets face it, everything ends, good or bad..I’ve reached a milestone. This has to end somewhere and I am going to let it happen. I am doing this mostly because all that is on my mind lately is our country is spinning out of control. Even our President is not trusted by his own party. I only see a future of sadness and fear. We, the people of America must realize we cannot save the world! We cannot solve the world problems! We cannot pay for the world debt! Someone has to make some hard decisions. There is more to life than to spend, spend, spend. Its virtually impossible to pay the debt we have now and there are some really insane things going on out there and its costing this country a fortune. I understand change but what is happening is happening too fast and its out of control. I am disappointed at the direction and the progress this country is making and I fear for my Niece's, Nephews and Grandchildren and all the young people that have and will have nothing in the future except overcrowding and an expensive greedy environment. They will never know peace and what it was like only a few years ago when I was a young man. What we have today is a drug and alcohol riddled society and promiscuous behavior with no values or morals. It seems like anything goes and if the greedy can take advantage of you they will with no conscience or consequences. They would hurt you financially, mentality, physically and morally just to take your money and they won’t feel a thing. Its like you are left by the side of the road to die. Only with them, its on to the next victim. With you its suffering, payments and credit card bills and if you are very lucky maybe you will have a real job to pay for all that. Success today means to join the madness. Yes, maybe for a short time you will be content but you will never be really happy because its only instant gratification. Anyone with a conscience will feel guilt and remorse later in life. I guarantee there will never be peace in your soul…

I'll Have Another Kentucky Derby

The winner of this year's Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes, "I'll Have Another" is out of Saturday's Belmont Stakes, a spokesman for the horse's trainer said Friday....

"He galloped great yesterday, and in the afternoon, he had a little bit of swelling in his left front leg. This morning, he looked perfect. I took him out, and I just did a little something with him.
"After training, that swelling came back. I had the vet come over. He scanned his left front leg. He's got the start of tendonitis going on in that front leg, so he's not 100%. And we ain't taking any chances," he said...

Comment....Better safe than sorry...

"Casey Ordered To Disclose Finances"

Casey Anthony Ordered To Disclose Finances;... | Gather

Tot mom Casey Anthony has been ordered to disclose the source of her money since she's been allegedly searching for property in Costa Rica. She claims to be broke, without a job and has to rely on others to keep her safe from the public eye, so where is she getting all of this money?
In the civil defamation trial filed by the woman she falsely accused of kidnapping her daughter, it appears that the Florida courts are interested in where she's getting her cash as well. In fact, she is being required to disclose every her finances including receipts and bank account statements. She is also required to disclose the information on any "secret" donors she may be getting money from to take care of herself and shop for property.
It also seems that if she doesn't comply or if she is caught being dishonest, she could be jailed for perjury. Knowing that Casey Anthony is a pathological liar, even a convicted liar, it's probably safe to say that she might be teetering right on that dangerous line.

Comment.....Update ...This news seems to be flying around the internet..I don't know how true it is...At the end of the link page there is a petition to have her tried in Federal court for killing her daughter...If it means that much to you sign it...I prefer to wait to see what happens to her like OJ...I don't think she will move away from the good ol United States. Do you?

"Never Cry Wolf"

The other day I sent a text message to what I thought was good friend that I haven't seen or heard from in a long time. This is the response I got a few minutes later.....The message said and I kid you not....Joan (not her real name) has died of a drug overdose....Needless to say when I read that I was in shock....I immediately called her cell phone and after twenty rings she answered...I recognized her voice and I said, "What are you doing"? "Why are you doing this"? Why would you say something like that? She replied, "Hi who is this? This is Joan's sister, Joan has died". I said, raising my voice this time, "No, this is not Joan's sister, its you, why are doing this"??.. You would be surprise of the different emotions that happen to you when something like this happens. Wait a minute I thought, I was confused.... it could be her sister. I thought I recognized her voice but what if it wasn't? I couldn't think of anything to say and I was angry. I didn't know whether to believe her or not. I didn't want to believe it but what if?......It sounded like her but the voice on the phone said it wasn't her. The voice said we are going through a bad time here who is this?...Still in shock and not believing her I hung up....I refused to believe her...I did think about it and after a while I said to myself it could be, what if, I thought and then I accepted it and I did believe who I thought was Joan's sister...I knew she had a sister, we had met at a 4th of July picnic a few years ago...Yet, I knew this woman was capable of a lot of things but faking her death is a whole other thing...I suppose there is a first time for everything...My first emotion was to not believe it. Then I thought what if? Then sadness...By then it was 11:30 and I called the number again. It went into voice mail and I hung up and went to bed and tried to sleep. It wasn't easy but I finally fell asleep. The next morning I thought, wait a minute there is something fishy going on here...Who would send a text message to announce someones death? It isn't likely that anyone would do that but wait just a minute...I called her number again later that morning and she answered. At first she denied it but after a while admitted it was her...I know it sounds like the classic cry for help...No diagnoses here or explanations. Later I called a friend of hers and suggested she keep an eye on her...I was angry but I was reminded of the story my Dad told me many years ago about "The Boy Who Cried Wolf".....

"FBI Looks Into Possible White House Leaks"

FBI Looks Into Possible White House Leaks

(CNN) -- The FBI has launched an investigation into apparent leaks of classified information involving a U.S. cyberwarfare program against Iran, a U.S. official said Wednesday.
FBI spokesman Paul Bresson had no comment on the reported investigation.
Sen. Saxby Chambliss, ranking Republican on the Senate Intelligence Committee, said he was informed that an FBI inquiry is under way.
The senator from Georgia and other leaders of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees issued a joint statement Tuesday deploring the apparent leaks.
"In recent weeks, we have become increasingly concerned at the continued leaks regarding sensitive intelligence programs and activities, including specific details of sources and methods," said Chambliss; Chairwoman Dianne Feinstein, D-California; Chairman Mike Rogers, R-Michigan; and Ranking Member C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, D-Maryland, in the statement.

Comment...With the election looming in the future they had better stop the leaks now...We don't want anything nasty to be talked about during that critical time....

"Final Juror Selected For Koistinen Trial"

Final Juror Selected For Koistinen Trial - Courant.com

Prosecutors and the lawyer defending former Windsor Locks Connecticut police Officer Michael Koistinen on Wednesday selected the final juror for the panel that will hear the state's case against Koistinen.
The trial is scheduled to begin June 19. Pretrial motions are scheduled for June 13. Defense attorney Raymond M. Hassett has filed motions to exclude evidence about Koistinen's alleged consumption of alcohol, his father's involvement in the case and statements made by police officers.
The state wants to have jurors visit the scene of the crash that killed Henry Dang and wants them to view a "speed demonstration."
Koistinen was fired from the police department after his arrest in the death of Dang, 15, who was riding his bicycle home from a friend's house around midnight on Oct. 29, 2010. The crash occurred on Spring Street in Windsor Locks.
Koistinen is charged with first-degree manslaughter, misconduct with a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.

"Tobacco-Caused Deaths Projected to Increase Further"

Tobacco-Caused Deaths Projected to Increase Further

Tobacco kills about six million people each year throughout the world.

A British medical journal reports that the number of cancer cases could rise by 75 percent by the year 2030 - and most are expected in developing countries.
Virtually all experts on tobacco use recognize it as the single most preventable cause of death worldwide. At the American Cancer Society, Nathan Grey focuses on global health issues.
"Each year, tobacco kills about six million people throughout the world, and by 2030, that's projected to grow to about eight million people," he said.

Comment.....If you are addicted to the drug Nicotine in my opinion it is harder to stop smoking than it is to stop drinking..

"$12 BILLION DOLLARS PROFIT"

http://money.cnn.com/2011/04/29/news/companies/big-oil-gas-price-response/index.htm

At the shoreline where I live in Connecticut, I don't know about your area but the price at the gas pump here is very slowly dropping a meager penny or two every week or so since Obama is trying to gain momentum in the up and coming election. The prices per gallon vary here from $3.74 to $3.89 a gallon. To me I call it $4.00 a gallon because in a sense it is. Remember, this is summer time, the prime "Lets charge as much as we can get season". Its odd for the price to be going down...Do you think Obama said, OK oil buddy's I need to be reelected so lets ease up and cut back on the price of gas to give the fools out there some false hope. After I win the election you can charge anything you want.... Like almost $12 BILLION dollars in oil profits isn't enough!  You cannot imagine in your wildest dreams how much money that is....Oil is one of our greatest natural resources and its monopolized and controlled by the most selfish people in the world! Its an example of total and absolute greed. What if these bastards could control water? Isn't that something for all those corrupt Washington politicians to be proud of ??? Like, lets see see how fast we can bleed the American people to death....Not one of those corrupt Bastards is saying a word about that....How much money do they want??....I wouldn't want to be those GREEDY oil company BASTARDS and those corrupt political hacks when its time to meet their maker. I'll even bet some of these morons think they can take all the cash with them. I heard even Allah is angry at these creeps and that is one Entity I wouldn't want to piss off..... However, I know that my God would probably forgive them but will still send them to Hell. He will just make the spot they go to not quite as hot as that of a serial killer but I certainly wouldn't want that gas nozzle up my a--hole for eternity........

Check out the profits on the CNN link above.

Sorry about the swears they just come out and I can't stop myself...

Toddler hears mom's voice for first time | Entertainment - WESH Home

A deaf toddler’s moving reaction to hearing his mother’s voice for the first time has touched the hearts of many on the Web.
The 2-year-old Pennsylvania boy gasped and smiled as he heard his mom calling his name after his new hearing aid was activated.
“Hi, Cooper! Hi, Cooper!” Lauren LaScala greeted her son.
Cooper’s jaw dropped when he heard his first sound. He threw up his arms and giggled in delight when he heard his name.

Comment .... I knew if I looked long enough I'd find a story about some thing good...See the 3 minute video...Priceless

"Girl Friends"

Did you know its easier for me to find a girl friend that it is for me to find guy friend? Why is that? Girls it seems, always have girl friends hanging around. Only sometimes guys have best friends but not like girls.. I mean, I am not going to dig too hard on this but I was just wondering about that.. I have a few guy friends but they are more like acquaintances and we are not really that close. We have a few things in common but we don’t do guy stuff. What ever that is. It could be me. Or not. Years ago I had close guy friends and we did everything together. From the really weird stuff to the nice and normal stuff we stuck together. As the years past we drifted apart and that was that. To be a little morbid here some have even died. I’ve had friends like some of my girlfriends boyfriends or husbands but that’s what we had in common. Did I write that right? I mean we had fun and did things all together but not as guys do…What can I say to a guy? Dude, wanna hang around together? I don’t freaking think so. I’m kidding but its true. I don’t know what I should do. I could become friends with another girl. Hey, do you want to be my friend? I don't want anything I just want to be friends? I had a friend a while ago who was a girl and I didn't want anything...We still are I think... Oh well, so much for that…..

FBI Warns of Online Scan Accusing Users of Visiting Porn Sites"

FBI warns of online scan accusing users of visiting porn sites - WBTV 3 News, Weather, Sports, and Traffic for Charlotte, NC

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The FBI is warning computer users about a new scam that not only takes your money, but accuses you of visiting child pornography websites as well.
"They're getting more boisterous," said Troy Rice, Charlotte IT expert and owner of See the Matrix off Morehead Street. "They're trying to really intimidate the average user."
The trouble begins when you click an unfamiliar link. Hackers download a virus to your computer, and you see a screen telling you that you're in trouble with the FBI for looking at child pornography. Then it demands you pay a $100 fine to the Department of Justice.
"And the scariest thing is it's probably not just the 100 bucks. You've now given them a credit card, and you've given them proprietary information, personal information, so once they have that it's even more detrimental," said Rice.

Comment ....You can delete the cookies, erase the history, defrag the drives but you will still have that guilty conscience and these bastards will want to rip you off..It amazes me that someone would actually believe that and pay black mail to the Department of Justice no less....

"Casey Anthony, Caylee Anthony, News, Updates"

Casey Anthony, Caylee Anthony, News, Updates - WESH 2

Comment....Seriously I know this is like beating a dead horse but this link is a moment to moment from then to now up-date on this young woman...I followed OJ from when he murdered his ex-wife and her friend and got away with it to now, in prison on an unrelated charge. Its an example of the, "what goes around comes around" theory. Will Casey suffer the same fate? After her lawyers are done bleeding her and all the law suits are settled the made for TV move is done and the books are written. Will she ever get to live a normal life what ever that may be, what will become of her? That's what I am interested in. Life is short and before you know it the end will be near. Will she take care of herself? Can she be trusted? Will she feel the guilt? We all know what really happened and she knows that.

"Obama Knew of Cyber Attacks on Iran"

Report: Obama Knew of Cyber Attacks on Iran

A cyber warfare expert works on his laptop computer in Charlotte, North Carolina, December 1, 2011

A prominent U.S. newspaper says U.S. President Barack Obama has been orchestrating secret, sophisticated cyber attacks on Iran's main nuclear facility.

The New York Times cited anonymous sources close to the program who said the order - given just after Obama took office in January 2009 - was a major expansion of America's cyber weapons program.

The Times reports the cyber attack program began under former president George W. Bush, who encouraged Obama to keep it going, and the new president did so.

Comment....Started with George....Interesting..

"Casey Anthony EquuSearch Lawsuit"

Casey Anthony EquuSearch Lawsuit: Casey Anthony attorneys in court this morning in EquuSearch suit - Orlando Sentinel

EquuSearch is suing Anthony for more than $100,000 — money it says it spent to search for Caylee. The group says Anthony knew her daughter was dead, not missing, but allowed the searches to continue.
Anthony's defense argues Miller lied about key conversations he says he had with Casey about her daughter.
In July, Anthony was acquitted of killing the 2-year-old. She is currently serving probation in a check-fraud conviction. Her location is not publicly known. She faces several lawsuits in connection with her daughter's death.
Much of the latest hearing focused on whether Miller will be deposed as an individual or in his corporate role and whether the deposition will take place in Texas or Orlando, with the latter appearing more likely.

Comment....She is being sued in more ways than one...
