Rogue pharmacies banking on oxycodone - CBS News Investigates - CBS News

Rogue pharmacies banking on oxycodone - CBS News Investigates - CBS News:

"At age 23, Heather Belleme had a dark secret. For two years, she was addicted to the powerful pain-killer oxycodone.

"I would never think in a million years Heather would abuse drugs, never," says her mother Lisa.

Even though Belleme didn't have a need for oxycodone, she had no problem getting prescriptions from doctors - and getting them filled.

In March, she walked into a Fort Lauderdale pharmacy with a prescription and walked out with 168 pills of oxycodone by paying $700 cash. Four days later she died of an overdose."

This was such a waste...Sadness beyond belief....

Social Security - Latest News from CBSNews.com - CBS News:

"The cost-of-living adjustments, or COLAs, are automatically set each year by an inflation measure that was adopted by Congress back in the 1970s.

To make up for the lack of a COLA, the House will vote in November - after congressional elections - on a bill to provide $250 payments to Social Security recipients, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said. But even if Pelosi can get the House to pass the proposal, it faces opposition in the Senate. "

Did AARP mention this? Did anyone? And If I remember correctly its been 4 years since a COLA...

'Pope' of Illinois Politics Faces Corruption Trial - ABC News

'Pope' of Illinois Politics Faces Corruption Trial - ABC News:

"The enigmatic William Cellini, 76, will step into the limelight Monday when his corruption trial starts. He's accused of trying to shake down the Oscar-winning producer of "Million Dollar Baby" for a campaign contribution to Rod Blagojevich, and his trial is the last in a series stemming from a decade-long investigation of the former Democratic governor.
Blagojevich was convicted at retrial earlier this year of trying to sell or trade President Barack Obama's old Senate seat. Two trials revealed the ex-governor as charismatic and full of braggadocio but lacking discipline. He seemed to bumble his way through his job and now, at 54, is broke and about to be sentenced to prison."

A classic example of what goes around....comes around...

Yemen Strikes Kill Queens Man Along With Terrorist Who Inspired Times Sq Plot | NBC New York

Yemen Strikes Kill Queens Man Along With Terrorist Who Inspired Times Sq Plot | NBC New York:

" A publisher of an online terror magazine who grew up in Queens and wrote about his pride of being a "traitor" to America was among those killed in Yemen Friday, officials said.

Samir Khan was killed along with the American-born al-Qaida cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, who was questioned for his ties to 9/11 and was said to have inspired both the Fort Dix, N.J., and Times Square terror plots.

Khan was reportedly born in Saudi Arabia and raised in Queens. He recently lived in North Carolina and edited a jihadi internet magazine.

Al-Awlaki was targeted in the killing, but Khan apparently was not targeted directly. They were killed in a joint CIA-U.S. military strike on their convoy."

© " My Life in a Nutshell " - “Birthday”:

" Its my birthday today…..Actually it’s the day I add to my age because the truth is I am getting older…Its getting tough now to hide my age…I have been lying about my age since the days of Jack Benny. He was 39 till the day he died. Depending on the situation I did that for years. If that is any indication its been a few years for me also. Here is an example. The drinking age was 21 in Connecticut…They were carding me until I was 30. All my life I have been blessed by looking younger. Now, I have to increase that age a few years to sort of look like the age I really am….People will ask me how old I am and when I tell them they don’t believe me….Hell, I don’t believe It…. I hear things like, age is only a number or age is how old or young you feel…My Advice is think young and do the usual things like exercise and diet…But the most important thing is a positive attitude. Never ever be afraid of rejection and smile whether you mean it or not…"

The change we are going through now been going on for the past few years and there were only a few warning signs and unless you know what to look for its like a shock when it happens. It just sneaks up on you. This time though, it’s a tough one…Winter is just around the corner again and the food and fuel prices are getting higher. It seems like everyone is running around in fast motion pushing and shoving the other guy. Its like they are trying to get first in line for something. We are running out of jobs except for the menial ones and there are, lets face it, just too many people. The Government cannot pay for everything. There is too much government spending. We cannot take care of all the people. There are just too many. There is space left in this country but everyone is in one place trying to find those elusive “Streets paved in gold”."

Newington officer looks for coyote that killed dog | WTNH.com Connecticut:

"NEWINGTON, Conn. (AP) - Newington's animal control officer is patrolling the streets, worried about children's safety after a coyote killed a local family's dog earlier this week.

Officer Wayne Fox is telling residents to stay away from the coyote if they see it. The animal attacked a Great Dane named Zoe in the Stagecoach Lane neighborhood early Tuesday and punctured an artery on one of the 8-year-old dog's legs, which forced the owners to have it put down."

There are a lot of questions here....Will this be another cop kills wild animal for doing what comes natural. Did the human do something stupid like all those brave alligator hunters or bear killers? Will this be like those cowardly drivers that are in so much of a hurry that they run over squirrels, rabbits, possums. Did these freaks of nature do this on purpose? I'd investigate the Human and probably arrest them for animal cruelty...

Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing Lyrics

I could stay awake just to hear you breathing
Watch you smile while you are sleeping
While you're far away and dreaming
I could spend my life in this sweet surrender
I could stay lost in this moment forever
Where every moment spent with you is a moment I treasure

Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing

Lying close to you feeling your heart beating
And I'm wondering what you're dreaming
Wondering if it's me you're seeing
Then I kiss your eyes
And thank God we're together
I just want to stay with you in this moment forever
Forever and ever

I don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing

I don't want to miss one smile
I don't want to miss one kiss
I just want to be with you
Right here with you, just like this
I just want to hold you close
Feel your heart so close to mine
And just stay here in this moment
For all the rest of time Yeah yeah yeah

I don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing

I Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
Cause I'd miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing
Cause even when I dream of you
The sweetest dream will never do
I'd still miss you babe
And I don't want to miss a thing

Don't want to close my eyes
I don't want to fall asleep
And I don't want to miss a thing

Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill put 'Moneyball' into play – USATODAY.com

Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill put 'Moneyball' into play – USATODAY.com:

"REVIEW: 'Moneyball' hits the sweet spot
Or how their fashion and hairstyle choices reflect their shrewdly balanced jock vs. geek pairing on-screen? It's suburban-dad chic for floppy-locked Pitt, 47, who is youthful yet has a penchant for Cosby-esque sweaters. And neo-conservative business casual for close-cropped Hill, 27, belying both his age as well as his foul-mouthed dweeb antics as a member of comedy king Judd Apatow's clown posse.
Or, perhaps they could be debating just how boring Pitt's life was during his years with ex-wife Jennifer Aniston? That's doubtful, however, considering the actor has since issued a denial about similar statements after his foot landed in his mouth during a chat with Parade.
Instead, Hill is explaining the joys of the now-departed cult sitcom Arrested Development to an intensely fascinated Pitt."

Less Than Half of Schools Succeed | NBC Connecticut: "Nearly half of Connecticut public schools did not meet improvement standards this year under the No Child Left Behind Act, whose benchmarks have become tougher than ever to reach as federal officials push Congress to overhaul the law.
The state Department of Education said on Monday that 47 percent of Connecticut's schools fell short of making "adequate yearly progress," or AYP, because their students' scores either did not improve at all, or did not improve enough to match the federal law's requirements."

Mass. suspends Ariz. driver's licenses - WFSB Channel 3: "BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts authorities have suspended the driver's licenses of more than 100 people who converted licenses earned in Arizona before being converted to Massachusetts licenses, and are investigating hundreds more.

Rachel Kaprielian (kuh-PREEL'-yun), head of the state Registry of Motor Vehicles, says those people who got their licenses in Arizona, largely legal refugees, are breaking the law.

To get a license in Massachusetts, eligible applicants must first pass a written learner's permit test and then a road test. Immigrants can take the test in up to 26 foreign languages."

"Following a report linking CIA operatives to an undercover and unethical New York Police Department spy unit, the Central Intelligence Agency announced yesterday that they will be investigating into whether or not their own agents broke the law.
The Associated Press began publishing a report last month that detailed the Demographics Unit of the NYPD. The AP alleged that a CIA officer had been installed within the Big Apple’s police force and was leading a team of undercover agents within the organization to infiltrate Muslim-majority communities and investigate potential terror threats without warrants, evidence or proof."

I was thinking she would never call me again and I got sick about that. As a result I had a dream Monday night. It was the kind of dream that I don’t remember much about but it wasn’t bad. Not a nightmare. In the dream it was just a very foggy day, like warm and smoky but I could see through the fog…There she was sitting on a rock near the ocean looking at me…She was smiling that beautiful smile of hers…I knew then she was OK…She called me the next day and the first thing I did was apologize…After we hung up I cried."

4 Lawyers Claim to Be the Hero in ‘A Few Good Men’ - NYTimes.com

4 Lawyers Claim to Be the Hero in ‘A Few Good Men’ - NYTimes.com:

"In the movies, there have been quite a few handsome and noble defense lawyers. And one of the best known may be the military lawyer played by Tom Cruise in “A Few Good Men,” the 1992 courtroom drama about a hazing gone awry at the Guantánamo naval base in Cuba.
So it has been quite a distinction for a Connecticut lawyer named Walter C. Bansley III to claim — with some basis — that he “was the actual military lawyer played by Tom Cruise,” as he did on his Web site (until he was asked about it this week)."

I can’t forget the local crimes of scamming, home invasions, those spectacular 100 mile an hour car crashes where every one involved except the driver dies, he survives without a scratch and those ever present hit and runs by that drunk, drug addict driver just name a few. Strauss-Kahn's Tribeca Townhouse Back on Market | NBC New York:
"It's amazing, the global attention created by this rental," he said. Many people have seen the property, but it's too early for bids, Dvorin told The Associated Press on Friday.

Strauss-Kahn, then the chairman of the IMF, was arrested in May and charged with assaulting a maid at the Sofitel, a midtown Manhattan hotel. He was jailed for several days, then released on $1 million cash bail plus a $5 million insurance bond.

Strauss-Kahn and his wealthy wife, Anne Sinclair, first moved into a lower Manhattan apartment where tenants and the landlord objected to their attention-grabbing presence.

They then moved to the townhouse, paying $50,000 a month to walk across its antique French floors. They left after the charges were dropped.

Built in 1915, the 27-foot-wide home was recently renovated by Italian architect and designer Leopoldo Rosati.

I say......They said all press is good press and that's why I hesitate to write this...This guy is the chairman of the monetary fund its no wonder the world is like it is...OK, its a nice house but not worth the price...I mean only 27 feet wide...Why do you need something like this? Judge: Anthony must pay nearly $98,000 for probe of dead daughter - CNN.com

Judge: Anthony must pay nearly $98,000 for probe of dead daughter - CNN.com:
"(CNN) -- Casey Anthony owes authorities just under $98,000 for the costs of investigating the disappearance of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee in 2008, a Florida judge ruled Thursday.
The decision means prosecutors were able, based on the decision, to recoup less than one-fifth of the $516,000 they had sought. The state had argued that if it were not for the 25-year-old Orlando woman's lies, investigators would not have had to expend the time and money to find her daughter's body. They searched for five months.
Orange County Chief Judge Belvin Perry Jr. found that Anthony was liable for expenses incurred from July 15, 2008, when her 2-year-old daughter Caylee was reported missing, and September 29 of that year, when authorities ended their missing person's case and opened a homicide investigation"

The umpire had ruled that Williams yelled while Stosur was hitting a backhand, and therefore awarded a point to Stosur.

“You’re totally out of control," Williams yelled in a comment caught by microphones. "You’re a hater and you’re just unattractive inside.”

"Ass Clown?"

Iran Says American Hikers May Be Released In Days - Orlando News Story - WESH Orlando:

"TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- The families of two American hikers held in Iran for more than two years say they are "overjoyed" at reports they may be released within days.
Josh Fattal and Shane Bauer will be released from Tehran's Evin prison after a $500,000 bail is paid for each of them, their attorney, Masoud Shafiee, said Tuesday. Bauer and Fattal could be released "in a couple of days," Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told NBC in an interview that aired Tuesday."

First the girl was released on a $500,000 bail....Bail to me means she has to go back for a court appearance...Ya right! Don't hold you breath waiting for that to happen...Wait, now these two guys are going to get bonded out for $500,000 each. Total price for these bribes. One million five hundred thousand dollars...Who is going to pay for that? Taxpayers? That is a $1,500,000 bribe for the three of these people...Who gets this money? Why doesn't someone besides me say its a bribe? The President said, "Releasing them was a Humanitarian Gesture" What planet is he on? I thought the United States doesn't with terrorists. Is this a cash payment or check...Pay to the order of who?

Healthy Living In, Beer Out - Video - WESH Orlando:

"The beer industry takes a hit as Americans look toward a healthier lifestyle. "

They forgot to mention if this is true there are less drunks on the road. Then of coarse like the girl in the video says...Not many people have jobs to have money to buy beer.......I say the reality is having to buy beer and gas at $4.00 a gallon with no job and only welfare and an employment check make impossible for anyone with a half a brain left to buy beer....

"This is not your typical 9/11 story. Yes, 2977 lives were lost in the World Trade Center terrorist attack.

Until you see how many that really is? Its hard to believe… I was awestruck. I describe it as a sea of flags…

I was driving by the town hall in Old Saybrook Connecticut and stopped to see the 2977 flags from

Sundays ceremony. I can’t explain it, see for yourself…I took the pictures from different

sections in the huge front yard of the town hall."

Good, Bad and Ugly of New York's Football Weekend | NBC New York

Good, Bad and Ugly of New York's Football Weekend | NBC New York:
"The Giants were terrible in Washington and the Cowboys spent three quarters pushing the Jets around the Meadowlands like they were a junior varsity club, setting the table for the kind of start to a season that would have you checking to see when the NHL got underway. Tony Romo intervened and helped save the day for the Jets, but there was still more to dislike than embrace about the return of football to our lives."

No freaking comment!!!

I don’t think there is anyone that cruel or stupid. Well actually I do, I ‘m just trying to be nice.…. I have Google alerts and I changed some settings to nice things…Boring but nice things.. Later guys, I’m late. Be careful out there. Don’t do something I can Tweet about…I can’t believe I just said that…"

The Interrogator - CBS News

The Interrogator - CBS News:

"On 9/11, FBI agent Ali Soufan was in Yemen, where his New York-based team had been investigating the deadly al Qaeda attack a year earlier on the USS Cole. Soufan and his team were preparing to fly back to New York when FBI headquarters ordered him and his partner to stay put.

Soufan told Logan that he was desperate to return to New York and wanted to investigate the Cole at another time. He wondered whether he and his team had missed some hint of the 9/11 plot as they investigated the earlier attack on the Cole, but Soufan quickly learned that his mission in Yemen now took on a new urgency."

This is a good story...If you really listen to this ex-FBI agent and read between the lines...I mean look and see between those lines. Its typical (CIA) Government saying, "Who me" I didn't do anything. Or "What paper work? I didn't see any paper work." Its classic, hey don't blame this agency...

The Giants Might Be Just As Bad As You Feared | NBC New York:

"The Giants looked terrible in just about every phase of the game during their game against the Redskins in Washington on Sunday, earning every inch of their 28-14 loss. Some of the culprits were familiar from recent seasons and some were new additions to the hall of shame, but the end result is a team that looks completely lost. "

I didn't Think they would look that bad...Its like they picked up from where left off last year...

"Cliff Robertson, the handsome movie actor who played John F. Kennedy in "PT-109," won an Oscar for "Charly" and was famously victimized in a 1977 Hollywood forgery scandal, died Saturday. He was 88. His secretary of 53 years, Evelyn Christel, said he died in Stony Brook of natural causes a day after his 88th birthday."

He was in a movie in 1975 with Robert Redford..."Three days of the Condor". Its one of my favorites. Its a CIA movie...One of the last lines in the movie, Robertson's character says, "Its about the oil and they will pay anything to get it"....That was in 1975...I'll never forget that...Look at what is happening today 36 years later..

"At least 77 U.S. soldiers were wounded and five Afghan civilians killed when a truck bomb targeted a base west of Kabul.
