"In the wake of HBO's investigative piece into the Sugar Bowl and subsequent reports the bowl had made illegal campaign donations, the Sugar Bowl has issued the following statement, announcing its own findings and what it did to solve the problem:
"It's upsetting to discover, but the Bowl has investigated HBO's reporting and we confirm that in 2004 and 2006, a total of three tickets were purchased to two fundraising dinners honoring the former Governor of Louisiana [Kathleen Blanco], for a total of $3,000."
