The U.S. will "spare no effort" in conducting an investigation into a soldier accused of a shooting rampage in Afghanistan said Tuesday, as Pentagon investigators mull charges that could result in the death penalty if the soldier is found guilty of killing 16 Afghan civilians.
"The U.S. takes this as seriously as if it was our own citizens, and our children, who were murdered. We're heartbroken over the loss of innocent life," Obama said Tuesday during an event at the White House
Comment......I understand the serious nature of what happened and why the people are angry over what this obviously sick and very disturbed Soldier did. When I was in the military we used to say "He went over the deep end". This soldier by the way did 3 tours of duty in that Hell hole...Hey, he could have been sent home and did the same thing here. It has happened. By the way, he will never get the death penalty for this. if someone actually said that, it was only to pacify the monsters over there.....This is a war and from what I understand our country is there, among many other reasons trying to help these people beat the Taliban. You know, the terrorists (cowards) who blow up schools, families and children...These same Taliban (Killers) said they will seek revenge against the U.S. Army for what this soldier did by beheading soldiers if they catch them. Haven't they been doing that all along? Haven't these cowards been killing Soldiers with the roadside bombs. Having said all that what I don't understand is, are these the same same murderers that crashed planes into the World Trade center? Their threats sound boring and rhetorical.
