"51-Foot Jesus Statue Being Erected in Ohio"

51-foot Jesus statue being erected in Ohio - UPI.com

MONROE, Ohio, Aug. 30 (UPI) -- Construction on a 51-foot replacement for the "Touchdown Jesus" statue at an Ohio church has begun, officials said.
The first 20 feet of the new statue were erected Wednesday at the Solid Rock Church on Interstate 75 near Monroe, the Dayton (Ohio) Daily News reported. When it is finished, the statue will stand about 51 feet.

The statue is replacing the "Touchdown Jesus" statue, which was stuck by lightning on June 15, 2010, and burned to the ground. Reports did not say how high the earlier statue stood.

Comment....You just knew I was going to say something about this didn't you? I just happened to find this story under the caption "Odd news". The old statue was struck by Lightning, that alone says something to me. Would I dare erect another one? More than likely, yes. If only just to see what happens. My first thought was. What is Mohamed going to think about this? The good Mohamed would probably think this is great. Now maybe I'll build a Mosque next door...The bad Mohamed, you know the Mohamed that blows up schools filled with little girls, that one. He would build a Mosque and hide all the bad guys. Then blow up the new statue. The Atheists would just sue to stop the new statue from being built...Like I have said many times in the past! This world is so sick and violent its predictable..
