"Attorneys Pick Two Jurors on First Day of Koistinen Trial"

Attorneys Pick Two Jurors on First Day of Michael Koistinen Trial - Windsor Locks-East Windsor, CT Patch

As predicted by Judge Julia Dewey, the first day of jury selection in the trial of Michael Koistinen resulted in a lot of candidates being excused Monday in Hartford Superior Court.

The prosecution and defense did however choose two jurors of the six needed. One works as an assistant attorney general in Massachusetts and the other is a college student seeking a degree in education.

Koistinen, 26, a probationary officer with the police department, is accused of striking 15-year-old Henry Dang with his car as the teen rode his bicycle at the intersection of Spring and West streets at midnight on Oct. 30, 2010.

Comment...This is the biggest thing to happen in my old home town in a long time...Let me see if I got this right...Jr. was going up Spring St. in Windsor Locks after a day of drinking when he hit and killed a 15 year boy riding his bicycle...He left the scene of the accident to go to the Police station to talk to his father who was on duty as shift commander. He has been fired since then. Dad and son returned to the scene of the accident and moved the body for one reason or another...The rest is history...Now Jr. is in court defending himself....Hey Mikey plead guilty, there isn't a shyster lawyer good enough to get you off... If you read between the lines here...I'll bet you can figure out what happened...
