A former NYPD officer has been sentenced to three terms of 25 years to life in prison after being convicted of grabbing a schoolteacher off a street and sexually assaulting her at gunpoint.
Michael Pena, 28, was sentenced Monday. He was found guilty of committing a criminal sex act.
Capping a trial that portrayed a hideous, sudden assault by an off-duty officer, the judge excoriated Pena as an embarrassment to police, while the woman said the attack — on her way to her first day of work at a new job — had destroyed her life.
Comment ...The Judge in this case should be commended for imposing a sentence that fits the crime...For setting an example to any officers that might use the badge for negative reasons. Being an ex-cop its very dangerous for him to be going to that prison. I hope this Bastard doesn't get special treatment and he spends every waking moment for 75 years running for his life in that prison..
