"Update - Another Juror Chosen In Koistinen Trial"

Another Juror Chosen In Koistinen Trial - Courant.com

One more juror was chosen Wednesday in the trial of Michael Koistinen, a former Windsor Locks police officer charged with manslaughter in the 2010 car crash that killed teenager Henry Dang.
Michael Koistinen was fired from the police department after his arrest in the death of Dang, 15, who was riding his bicycle home from a friend's house around midnight on Oct. 30, 2010. The crash occurred on Spring Street in Windsor Locks.
Koistinen is charged with first-degree manslaughter, misconduct with a motor vehicle and tampering with evidence.
His father, former Windsor Locks police Sgt. Robert Koistinen, has also been charged in connection with the fatal crash. His trial will take place after his son's trial.
He, too, was fired, but is trying to get his job back.
Michael Koistinen was off-duty the night of crash. Witnesses have told police that he had been drinking the day of the crash and he allegedly threw a beer glass from his car onto a lawn of a house where the crash happened.
Robert Koistinen, on duty at the time of the crash, was the first police supervisor to arrive at the scene. He is accused of removing his son from the crime scene and preventing authorities from administering a blood test. He is charged with hindering prosecution and interfering with police.

Comment ....The trial will resume next Tuesday...
