New Jersey governor criticized for flying flag at half mast for Whitney Houston | GantDaily.com:

"Critics were vocal on social media sites arguing that the flag tradition should be reserved for members of the military, and that it is wrong to honor a drug addict. Houston’s battles with addictions are no secret. Prescription medication and alcohol are believed to be the cause of her death, although the official cause of death has not yet been made public."

Comment.........Flying the flag at half mast is the Presidents or and I'm sorry to say, the Governors decision. It can be flown at half mast for the people including local religious leaders, youth leaders, honored teachers or sports coaches, local politicians, or a local hero.

Agree or not he can do this...But if he does or did it will set a precedent and you might as well leave the Flag at half mast all the time because every drug addict that dies in the future who acted in a movie or sang a song will be honored this way...It just takes away the ceremony from the real heroes...

NOTE.......I read today that he is pissed about people giving him flack about flying the flag at half mast for a dead drug addict...I thought I would post it again...

AGAIN MORON! THIS HONOR IS RESERVED FOR HERO'S NOT DEAD DRUG ADDICTS.
